Holy Knight

"Yes dad it's me" my dad was sitting on the table with a picture in his hand. "I guess I'll come back later" I turned around and walked towards the door

"Wait!"

"what dad you want to apologies.. right?" I turned around and walked towards him "yes I want to apologies"

"For what!, you do this all the time you need to quit drinking or get some help" he was holding a picture of me and my mom hugging each other... We both had huge smiles on our face because it was the day my dad got out of rehab.

"I've tried that already and it worked I just had a bad day" he held out the picture and I just turned away.

"It worked out!?, do you not recall what you said yesterday?" I snatched the picture and placed it face down on the table "the only thing I recall was kicking you out and me calling you a very profound word."

"Oh now you can't say the word. yesterday it rolled off your tongue... you called me a slut. A slut and you also called mother a slut"

Tears fell down my dads face and I almost caught feelings but then the memories came back.

"I'm sorry Hannah, I know you can't forgive me that easily but your mother would be disappointed in me, she's looking down at us in shame."

"No dad she's looking at you in shame"

"And no I don't forgive you but you are my father and I will always love you just not right now"

I left my dad sitting at the table to think about what he did yesterday, him coming home, drinking and kicking me out the house. I knew I would have to tell my brothers about this and I really didn't want to but the truth always comes out.

I went upstairs took a hot shower and watched Netflix nothing's better then watching a couple of movies while you take a morning nap.

Sleeping in Noah's bed wasn't bad, but it wasn't my bed. It smelt like spearmint gum and cologne.

There was a knocking at my door

"Come in" I yelled from my bed "I know your still upset but you have to be hungry, want to go out to eat?" my dad said from the doorway and on cue my stomach growled "I take that as a yes, meet me down stairs in ten minutes" he closed the door and went down the steps.

I put on some jeans, Hollister sweater and my converses while tossing my hair in a messy bun "ahh fuck it" I said to myself as I walked down the steps.

"I'm ready" I said putting my jean jacket "alright" he grabbed the keys and we left. I sat in the passengers sit while I blasted music as I always do

Guided by a beating heart

All this time I was finding my self and

I didn't know where to start

My dad stopped at a red light and turned down the music "do you want to go to Ihop-" "yes Ihop" "-or drive thru okay Ihop it is"

A few more blocks later we arrived at our destination. when we got seated I looked at the time eleven thirty hmm that's basically still breakfast pancakes it is.

"Do you know what you want?" my dad said lifting his head from the menu I looked at the menu to appear like I didn't know what to eat "yeh" I said pointing to the pancakes "I should of known" my dad said shaking his head.

"What!?" I said shrugging my shoulders "you always get that" he said lifting his head from the menu again "yeh well I don't know why your looking at the menu when your gonna get the same thing you always get" I slowly took his menu

"And that is?" he tried testing me "pancakes with steak the weirdest combo" "wrong, pancakes AND steak that I eat separately NOT a combo" he said taking this conversation seriously

"Same thing"

He was about to say something but the waiter came to take our order. "Hi my name is Knight and ill be your waiter for today can I get you any drinks or are you ready to order?"

All I can think is you can be my Knight in shining armor any day. he had blonde hair that's nicely placed on his head and his dark blue eyes were like the deepest part of the ocean. he had a great smile that showed his dimples and the right amount of wrinkles on his forehead.

"Hannah, Hannah, Hann-" "yeh ...oh yeh..uhh can I get pancakes and orange juice" that was embarrassing

"Do you want eggs or bacon?" he said after he wrote down what I wanted "no just pancakes" he looked confused with my answer but he just wrote it down "okay ill be back with your drinks" he left as I kept my eyes on him.

"Soo" my dad said which caused me to look at him "he's pretty cute right?" my dad said and I looked at him like he's crazy "what?" I chuckled the awkwardness away "By the way where did you stay last night?"

"My friends house" it wasn't a lie Noah is my friend, yes he's a guy but that information doesn't have to be explained to him.

"What friend?"

"Oh you know the one that goes to my school" again not a lie he goes to my school

"Okay" the cute waiter came back with our drinks and he set them down slowly. "your food will be out in a few minutes" he walked away but not before winking at me. Is he trying to make me faint in the middle of Ihop

"Do you talk to Kim still?" he said taking a sip of his drink "I texted her when we first got here, but I should call her today" I was kind of upset how come she hasn't tried to contact me, maybe she's busy but a quick text wouldn't hurt but at the same time I haven't been contacting her. best friend one day to strangers the next.

"Do you like Kremswood?"

"Yeh I kinda like it there" "kinda?"

"Yeh kinda we just moved her I need more time to make up my mind but so far I like it." he asked me several more questions and it felt like twenty one questions.

The food finally came out me and my dad dived into the food. I cut the pancakes in multiple pieces then poured the syrup all over this deliciousness.

After eating I went to the bathroom "hey" I turned around it was Knight our waiter aka that sexy guy over there. "text me" he passed me a paper with his number on it "okay" I gave my sexiest smile and hair flip as I walked away.

I made my way to the table "hurry I have to use the bathroom" my dad said waving his hands so I would walk faster "so why didn't you?" "because I didn't want to leave the table" he left and kinda skip ran to the bathroom.

"So your names Hannah?" I looked up oh it's just that sexy guy over there "yeh and your Knight?" "yeh so how old are you?"

Don't you think you should of asked me that before you gave me your number "17 don't tell me your really old because your kinda cute and I just moved her I'm gonna be coming here a lot so if you are old just leave don't make this awkward"

He laughed "no I'm not old I'm 18 just turned actually" "good"

"Okay so text me, ill leave before your dad comes back" he walked off and my dad finally came after ten minutes or more past.

"That was more than pee" I said laughing as he sat back down "yeh well duty calls" he laughed at his own joke while I was in disgust.

"So ready to leave"? I nodded my head we got the bill... he paid the bill and bam we were on our way home.

"I hope you hate me less" my dad said as we parked in our drive thru "I don't hate you but I'm less upset and I'm actually happy" thinks to Knight and his gorgeous self

"Well I'm happy that your happy"
