The Wolf and The Disappearance.
Darkness nothing but darkness, whispering? someone's whispering.. Who's whispering? What are they saying?! Why can't I answer them!? I don't want to be here anymore! "Run."
It's all I'm able to hear before I'm jolted awake by howling, "The wolves" I whisper getting up and running as quick as I can. How could I have been so stupid to sleep this late?! I know better than this everyone knows better, you never stay in the woods past sunset or the wolves will have you. "Bells!" I exclaim while picking up speed I heard bells they were making me sleepy, who had the bells? Why did they make me so tired? Better yet who said my name I know I heard someone say my name, they said it so cheerfully were they hoping I wouldn't wake up is that why they were happy? I'm yanked out of my thoughts by the sounds of the howls getting louder and closer. I can make it I'm almost there. "Just keep running, don't look back never look back." I chant to myself as I hear something running and getting closer behind me. "I'm so close, just keep going" as soon as the words leave my mouth I'm tackled to the ground landing right on my face. With my heart pumping loud and fast almost hurting my chest every time it beats, I turn around as quickly as possible and stare into the eyes of snarling wolf before it painfully pins me to the ground. Staring the wolf suddenly lunges at me just as I put up my arm up to protect my face, I watch in horror and scream in pain as the wolf's razor sharp teeth sink into my arm. Frantically searching for something my other hand lands on a stick, I swing as hard as I can hitting the beast straight in the head, it whimpers and lets go taking my chances I make my escape. Seeing the cabin just ahead makes me almost want to cry with joy, starting to pick up my pace I'm so close please just let me make it. Grabbing the handle I practically throw myself through the door.
"Mother!" I scream, but I don't hear anything.
"Mother! Please!" I'm met with the same silence as before, looking around I finally notice how dark and quiet it is. Why aren't the candles on? Why isn't she in the kitchen cooking dinner like she normally is? "Mom" I whisper as I slowly make my walk to her room leaving a trail of blood as I do. "Mommy please I need you" I say as her door opens. Nothing I'm met with nothing but a bed and dresser, every things gone no pictures, no clothes, nothing. With tears streaming down my face I make my way to the bed noticing a note, shakily I grab it and start to read.
My Dearest Alice,
I am so sorry to leave you like this, but I had no choice.
I just couldn't take it anymore; you are so much like your father
I couldn't face you any longer.
Please believe me when I say I love you.
I truly do, but I met a man and he asked me to live with him, he doesn't
want children though. I deserve to be happy and know that I'm gone
I know you will be as well.
Good Luck Alice.
-Mother
I stand there while heavy sob leave my body I don't know what to do? She's my mother she can't leave! I leave my thoughts when my head starts spinning I slowly look down and notice a puddle of blood under me. How funny the ground seems to be getting closer, without realizing what's happening my head hit the ground with a loud thump. I slowly start to close my eyes wishing my father was here that I could see his face one more time before the darkness once again takes over.
How could mother leave me here alone?
Is that why she said she loved me so she wouldn't feel bad about leaving?
