Nowhere to Go.

The rain was relentlessly pounding I found myself back in the clearing where I heard the bells this used to be my favorite place, howls start to echo in the distance. Not caring I start crying as the memories of earlier start to flood my thoughts.

"Hello Alice." He says bitterly.

"Hello Mr. Rogue... officers." I say nervously I have never liked the man who owned this property he always scared me when he would come see us. The fact that his is here cannot be good.

"Seems you have created trouble young Alice..." He states letting it linger on the end "You haven't paid the fees for this land in 6 months! After countless notices I don't appreciate being made a fool of!" He says as it slowly turns to shouting. 6 months! I was so shocked I didn't know what to do or say, I just stood there like an idiot till his cold voice broke me from my daze.

"I want you out now! You may take 3 things nothing more; everything else will be sold off to pay your debts on the land. You have 5 minutes." He said in a cold voice.

"Sir please! I didn't know I swear to you I never received any notice!" I quickly rushed out.

"Do not lie to me" he growled.

"I have nowhere else to-"

"I do not care!" he yelled raising his hand to hit me I quickly closed my eyes waiting for the hit, when it never came I opened my eyes to see one of the officers grabbing his wrist.

"I'm sorry Sir, but I cannot allow you to do that." He stated calmly, Mr. Rogue just grunted and pulled his wrist out of the officer's grip.

"Ma'am I do apologize but I must ask you to gather your belongings." He told me with an apologetic smile.

"Yes Sir" I whispered in utter defeat. I simply grabbed a picture of our family and the rabbit there was nothing else to grab.

"Pathetic child! No wonder your mother left." Mr. Rouge sneered as he snatched the key from my hand and went to lock the door.

"I am sorry ma'am I'm sure things will work out, ignore the old fool he has no manners and only cares for money." The officer who stopped Mr. Rouge said with a soft smile as he winked. Mr. Rouge knew mother left so she told him she was leaving! Yet she didn't have the decency to tell her own daughter! Mr. Rouge came back and started for the carriage with the officers leaving me standing alone on the edge of the tress of the forest.

"Be careful dear Alice." The same officer said with a wink just like last time. Does he know something I don't? Why did he call me dear?

As the memories start to fade away, my crying fills the woods once again, the rain seems to come down harder making me seem even more pathetic. The rain continues to fall harder making my skin sting each time it hits me.

"Hello sweetest Alice." Someone says as the rain suddenly stops, quickly wiping the tears from my eyes I look up and see a shadowy figure in front of me, "Who are you" I call out. The man simply chuckles and says "please follow me my dear Alice there is much to do and not much time to do so."

Who is this man?

Should I follow him?

Why did the officer keep winking at me, did he know this was going to happen?
