They say school's supposed to prepare you
For life
As though the first 18 years are a free trialThey say school's supposed to teach you that any things possible
Then they taught us the opposite
They say school's supposed to encourage teams and social communications
But all we learned was how much we dreaded group workThey say school's supposed to encourage imagination and individuality
So they tell us what to write, draw, and wearWhen we were kids we saw dragons and castles
Now we see cars and housesWhen we were kids we fought against aliens and zombies
Now we're fighting depression and suicideWhen we were kids anything was possible
Now we're fighting to get to tomorrowThey always said school was going to teach us education
But why did they kill our imagination in the processSo many years of education yet nobody ever taught us how to love ourselves or why it's important
