Chapter 16: Sassy

Getting my cast off was really nothing special. Dr. Geren--who was practically our family doctor by now--just removed it within five minutes, so it wasn't really that big of a deal, but I was SO happy to get it off.

After the appointment (about 9:30) we finally went back to school. It was Thursday now, so hey, I guess me and Christa were absent on Wednesday, which I was pretty okay with actually.

Once I got to homeroom, I sat down, realizing Christa hadn't arrived yet.

"Huh..." I huffed, "Normally she's here before me," I set my things down under my desk and tried to rip my binder and agenda from my extremely packed bookbag as a baseball player named Kyle from behind looked and laughed,

"Look at that kid! He's so weak! He can't even pull a book out of his bookbag!" he laughed again and again, and I just couldn't take it anymore, I'd delt with this enough.

"Why don't you just shut the fuck up?" I said rather loudly with a sarcastic smile, "I'm sorry that I'm not as strong as some cocky bitch like you! And I'm sorry that I don't have the time to go around telling people that they are weak and pathetic!" I slammed my fist on the desk as I sat back down.

This was not going to be good. What did I just do?

Hormones...yes. Blame the hormones.

"What did you just say!?" he stood up, towering over me, but I just leaned my head against my hand and ignored him while almost the whole class watched. I was of course scared, but I didn't show the slightest of it. I was good at this by now.

He grabbed me by the back if my shirt and swung my head backwards, hitting the desk, that hurt like hell. I could feel the blood pumping there and all it could do was wince in pain as Kyle wasn't over.

He punched me, right in the nose. I felt the blood rush through it and it felt like my whole entire nose was just squished into the front of my face. It hurt worse than the headbutt. Well, I've gotta say, he's got some strength.

But he still wasn't finished. He had time for one more blow. Straight to my eye. My glasses cracked, they just snapped. All the impact landed straight on my left eye. I'm surprised my eye didn't pop into my skull.

Mrs. Webb walked over and screeched, holding Kyle's right arm before he could punch again. Kyle almost punched her but stopped. I'm surprised he had enough common sense to not punch a teacher.

Even if he did, I couldn't see. My left eye was blacked out. In total darkness. I don't understand why my right eye wasn't working though. It just, the pain seeped through it like water drops, each drop exploding on impact.

Right when I get my cast off, and now I'm blind? Ugh. Why did I have to be such an idiot and go sass talk to strongest guy in class?

"Are you alright!?" Mrs. Webb screamed dramatically, letting go of Kyle's hand.

"If not being able to see and my face hurting a lot with complete broken glasses is considered okay, then yes, I'm perfectly fine." She gave me a sudden stern look, that I...didn't really see.

"You two are coming to the office right now," Mrs. Webb said rather quickly.

"How am I supposed to walk to the front office blind?" I asked. Mrs. Webb was about to say something but cut herself off. "I suppose we will have to wait on that." Mrs. Webb stayed there.

"And Jacob, you are moving to that seat on the other side of the classroom." My face widened as I couldn't believe what I had just heard.

"Me!?" I began, "I'm not the one who punched anyone!?"

"But you interrogated him!" Mrs. Webb sternly screamed as my vision was about to come back.

I was officially pissed at this teacher, "So I can't talk to the big boys because they're bigger than me and they'll beat me up!?"

Mrs Webb began to say something, something very nasty, but I cut her off.

"Fine!" I screamed with fury and all of my vision, "Don't let the wallflower talk sas to the sporty kids, because they'll say things that other kids say all the time and interrupt your class!? Aww, you poor thing, but you aren't the one who just got beat up, were you!?"

I was kicked out of the class.
