Heavy.
Whatever was on top of me right now was heavy as hell, constricting me from much needed air.
My mind processed it as the truck, and the nightmare engulfed my mind. I saw Lu again, her terrified face behind the glass, me running towards her, dragging her out of the truck, but inevitably getting caught under in the end. Out of fear my brain woke me and my eyes sprung open. My chest heaved up and down as I panted from the nightmare.
I wiped the sweat from my face and glanced around the hospital room. I could feel my body so I definitely wasn't paralyzed, but I still felt something heavy. Then suddenly, a small snore came from under my chin.
That little asshole.
It was Tom, his curls barely touching my neck, arms wrapped around my waist, and legs curled to his chest sideways, which really just meant he was slowly kneeing my stomach. I groaned and tried to push him off, but he didn't budge. He continued to sleep away, even nuzzling closer to me.
"Tom," I whisper screamed, "wake up. You better wake up right now or I'm going to actually scream at you. I'm going to count to three. One..two...fine. TOM HOLLAND GET THE HELL UP AND OFF OF ME!" Finally he awoke with a startle and fell off the bed, landing to the tiled floor with a thud. He sat there rubbing his head in tired confusion, then caught sight of me and jumped back on the bed with a child-like smile.
"You're awake!"
"Yeah, your fat ass woke me up."
"But I was lying on you for like eight hours."
My eyes widened, "Eight hours??! What time is it?!"
He squinted his eyes and counted figures in the air before answering, "Three o'clock. I got here at seven, so yeah eight hours."
I glared at Tom, "Why did you lie down on me? There are literally four chairs in here, one of which is a recliner."
He opened his mouth to say something but quickly shut it and mumbled, "Just wanted to make sure you were safe."
"Yeah, okay," I rolled my eyes. I nudged him off the edge of the bed, and he slumped down in one of the chairs in the corner. After a fat yawn I checked the nightstands. A few "Get Well Soon" cards sat there along with my phone. When I opened it to see if I had any new notifications, there was only three from Lu.
Lu the Poo: I hope you're okay but I had to go back to the house and go to school after the night at the hospital, ily
Lu the Poo: Kel-tea I'm so sorry. I know you hate Sebastian and I never should have gotten into the car with him. He was headass drunk and I should have known better. I promise that I'll never talk to him ever again and block him from everything, even Snapchat. I hope you're doing well and you come home soon, i miss u. The house sucks without you blasting music in the morning as I leave for school.
Lu the Poo: Hey I know you r sleepin and don't get these but i jus wanted to say that I won't be able to visit you today. I have a project to turn in for biology. Besides Tom is always there so you'll be fine. I'll make sure he takes care of you, which he does by default anyways so there. Ok i gtg bye ily
That little turd, I thought. I was going to have a long talk with her for sure when I was able to leave this place, but for now I'm stuck.
"How long have I been here?"
"Uh, the weekend and Monday. Today is Tuesday," Tom said slipping on a sweater.
"Crap have I been in a coma?"
He chuckled, "No haha, you woke up a few times and would say stuff like, 'my car is new', 'cars go nyoom', and stuff like that. You've just been so tired you don't remember."
"Oh. Well when I can I get out of here?"
Tom scrunched up his nose, "Maybe today if they can make sure all your vitals are good."
"Perfect."
