By the end of the night, I was ready to go home. I grabbed my bag of things from the hospital, and set for the 30 second walk to my house. We were halfway through the street when I remembered something.
"Where did I leave my car?"
Tom winced, "Oh yeah, you sorta left it at Starbucks."
"What?!" He nodded, "What if someone keyed it by now? Or they bumped into it?? What if someone stole it!?" Tom quickly put his hands on my arms, holding me steady.
"I'll go check on it, and when I assure you that it is well and safe, we can bring it back tomorrow. Sound good?" I shook my head in approval, and he patted my back. At my front step, just before I set foot inside, he grabbed my wrist. "Kelly?"
   "Yeah Tom?"
He stood there for a while, just looking at me. I couldn't tell if he was about to drop something intense on me or he was about to sneeze, luckily he didn't do either of the two. "Why are you going to the movies with Sam?"
"Oh, well you know that he loved the last one, so I told him that I would take him."
"On a school night?"
"Tom he's 18, it's not like I'm taking Paddy with me. I think Sam can handle a late night."
"Are you taking Harry?"
"Harry didn't wanna come, photography class has got him booked."
"And no one else wants to go?"
"Tom. Stop asking me questions. I already told you why I'm going with Sam. Can we be done? I'm tired as all hell." Tom nodded and waved goodbye, I did the same and went inside. It smelled like candles. What type, I was never sure, but I knew it was all Lu's doing. I couldn't get more than three steps into the house though before hearing her footsteps jog along the stairs and see her run across the hall into my arms. Muffled little cries fell into my shoulder as I held my baby sister. We fell to our knees as we held each other, breathing and wheezing and crying too much to say anything. It took several minutes before we were able to calm down and actually look at each other.
She held my face with her shaking hands, "I thought you were in a coma or something."
"Nah, just really damn sleepy." She chuckled and smiled, wiping the wet tears from her cheeks.
"Are you in pain?"
"No Lu, I feel fine, just tired."
I was about to tell her about what had happened with Tom but her phone rang. She stood up and excused herself to the living room, but I followed behind. I didn't hear much, and she didn't say much, but I had a feeling. I was ready to scream at her when she covered my mouth with her hand. I tried to peel it off but she quickly hurried me to the downstairs closet and shoved me inside, locking me in from the outside. I kicked the door about four times before I heard the front door open and heavy boots hit the wood flooring. I froze and watched through the little panels on the door as Sebastian strolled through my house toward my sister.
"Hey, how are you doing?" He asked in an almost genuine tone.
"Fine," she whispered. I watched intently, hoping she would kick him out, but she did the opposite.
Sebastian put his arms around her, leaning in on her neck the bloodsucking asshole he is. She willingly tilted her head, and embraced him. They moved to the couch, and after that, I couldn't bear it anymore. I dug through my jean pockets and found my phone, and texted the Holland group chat: "code red".
