Kaidan couldn't believe his ears. Did John Shepard just ask him if he would like to play football with the football team?! Kaidan was speechless. After his accident, he was always called a freak. He was always treated wrongly by everyone. Now he was asked to play football? With the district's best team? Oh god, how would he be able to do that? Kaidan glanced at Shepard and nodded, not even thinking and smiling. "Of course I would!"

Shepard was ready for a no, since he didn't think Kaidan was a football player. He was shocked when he heard Kaidan say yes. "Wait, really?" He was in disbelief. "You want to play football?" Shepard watched as Kaidan nodded with a smile. He felt his heart flutter when his eyes met Kaidan's brown ones, He turned away and blushed before smiling. "This is going to be one hell of a ride." He thought before feeling a hand on his thigh. It was Kaidan's. "Fuck. Could I be falling in love already?" He turned to face Kaidan, his face still red. He then heard the noise he set for when he received a message. He powered up his omni-tool to read it. Ashley. "Damn it. Forgot I was dating a girl to make me straight." He read the message and sighed. He had forgotten that the first real dance of his senior year was Friday of next week, and he still never asked her to it. He powered down his omni-tool and sighed.

Kaidan looked over and immediately began worrying about John. He had seen a slight anger appear on John's face, but Kaidan couldn't ask him what was wrong because the bus arrived at Alliance Prep. "Let's hope Shepard is in one of my classes this year." He thought before grabbing his schedule. John came over and showed Kaidan his schedule. Both of their faces fell when they noticed that the other was not in any of their classes. The bell rang, causing John to dash off. "Hey, John! I'll see you at practice, right?" He called out, making John turn. "Yeah! You'll see me then! Maybe even at lunch!" Before Kaidan noticed John was forcefully turned to face a girl due to the girl tugging on his arm. She kissed him which ended up placing a crack in Kaidan's already broken heart. Due to Rahna, he thought he'd never fall in love again. But he was wrong. He fell for John when they met in Kaidan's freshman year.
