Rose's POV

"That was incredible!" Mr. Shue yells as we run to the wings of the stage. "Uh, wait. Uh. where's Sam?" Mr. Shue asks. Ryder and Blaine point over to a curtain where Sam is sitting. "That was so much fun." I hug Hunter. He embraces me and puts his chin on my head. " Now for the results." He reminds me and I sigh. Yeah, once again we have to see who won, and who lost.

"And in fourth place... from Lake Tahoe, Vicious Harmony!" I sigh in relief and clap. "And third place goes to... our bronze beauties, The Amazonians!" I lean into Sam as he sighs in relief this time. "And now the pivotal moment is here." One woman steps away from the microphone, and another steps up. "For there can only be one champion show choir per nation." The other lady steps back up to the mic. "Second place goes to..." I close my eyes and whisper, "Here we go again."

She gasps. "New Directions! Which means the winner of the National Show Choir Championship is Throat Explosion!" Throat Explosion accepts their trophy. We don't move from our spots, we don't cheer, we don't acknowledge our own trophy. We just sit there like statues, disappointed we didn't win for Finn.

It's about fifteen minutes before we move out to the wings of the stage. "I should be going. I have to be a Syco soon." I state quietly and begin to walk off. "No, we're going with you." Mr. Shue grabs my arm to stop me from leaving. "Really?" I question. "Of course,we're a family. We're supposed to be here for each other." Mr. Shue smiles at me. "Thank you, guys." We get into a group hug before going out to the bus, and asking them to drive us to Syco, which they gladly took us.

Once we get there, we all step inside and I go up to the receptionist. "Hi, I'm Rose Knight, I have a meeting scheduled." I tell her and she smiles at me. "Of course, Mr. Cowell is eager to meet you." I raise my eyebrows. "I'll call you when he's ready." She tells me and I walk back to everyone. "She's going to call be when he's ready." I announce. They smile. A few minutes go by and I get called up. A man is waiting for me by the elevator and he takes me up to a room. "He's waiting for you." The man walks off and I open the door.

Right in front of me is Simon Cowell. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Cowell." I shake his hand. "You two, Rose." He smiles at me. First name basis already. "Please, sit down." He gestures to the seats in front of his desk. "So, the agent I sent to your Nationals tells me that you lost. Is that true?" He asks. "Um, yes, Sir, it is. We did our best, but, sometime's that isn't good enough." I smile sadly and look at my lap. "But, he told me that you were phenomenal." I look back up. "He did?" I inquire, shocked. "Yes. So, I would like you to sing, here, for me, so I can see which way I would like to sign you. A singer, or a song-writer." I smile slightly. "So, I would like you to sing a song that you wrote. Just one that you feel represents you the best." He sits back. "I actually have music on my phone. Can I use that to sing with?" I begin to pull out my phone. "Go ahead." He answers. I open up my videos, and begin to music for Inside Out.

(Ignore all of the comments in the video. This is a live version because the audio hasn't been released yet. It ends at 2:55.)

After singing, Simon looks at me. "Well, I see what he was talking about. That was amazing." He compliments smiling. "Thank you." I am really happy right now. "I would like to sign you to Syco Records." He pulls out a piece of paper. "If you sign this, you will be a recording artist for me." He hands me a pen. I smile and sign the paper and write down necessary information. "Thank you so much." I shake his hand and we both stand up. "So, I will be calling you for meetings and such. And we will have to discuss later what song you want to release first." Simon and I begin to walk out. "I hope to see you soon." He stops in the doorway. "Me, too, Sir." We shake hands one last time before I make my way back down to the lobby.

As I step out of the elevator, I hide my copy of the contract behind my back. I put on a frown and walk towards them. They frown back. "Awe, Rose." Sam stands up, ready to hug me. "No need to frown, guys." I smile and pull the contract out from behind my back. "Oh my, God, Rose!" Tina jumps onto be, hugging me. "Hey, Tina." I laugh, hugging her back. She let's go and I hug everyone, ending with Hunter. "I told you you'd be big some day." He wraps his arms around my waist. "I guess I should have believed you." I lean up and kiss him. I can't believe that just happened.

"So, Jean-Baptiste mailed it here?" Blaine questions Sam. "Yeah, he said that when he found out one of the people on his team stole it, he was furious. Then he apologized and said that he made sure that the thief was kicked off the team." Sam explains. I lean my head on his shoulder. "Huh. A bully with a moral code." Blaine chuckles. "All right, guys, time to put our new trophy in the case." Mr. Shue walks in holding the trophy, Burt and Carole following him.

"I've always found that second place trophies are just a lasting reminder that you didn't win." Artie reveals. "Hey, there were 16 teams in that competition. We beat 14 of the best show choirs int he country." Mr. Shue reminds us. "I'm sorry we let him down." Sam hugs Carole. "Let who down? Finn?" She asks us surprised. "We just really wanted to win this one for him, and for you." Blaine tells them. "We had a plan that we were going to call you up on stage and give you the trophy to keep." I share. "It's not right." Kitty says.

"This was not how the story was supposed to end." Jake looks at Carole and Burt. "You're right. Oh, it would have burned Finn to have lost to those guys. All we would have heard for months was how the judges had robbed you  or how you were so much better than them." Carole smiles. "But then he would have stood up and he would have told you that even though most of you had never been in a show choir before this year, you still stood tall against the best of the best. You know what? Even though Finn didn't have the best voice or the best rhythm of the best throwing arm, he always brought out the best in himself and in others, and the great thing about him is he always managed to find a way to feel like he'd won." Burt smiles.

"I was really proud of you guys up there. Healing those songs was so healing for me. And- I don't know- I saw how much he meant to you. So, win or lose, Finn lives in you guys." Carole points to us. "Okay, guys. Let's put this trophy where it belongs." Mr. Shue carries the trophy to the case. "A second place showing is superior to when Finn decided to make out with Rachel onstage and we ended up 12th." Artie comments. "Principal Sue wants to see you, Schuester." Becky states.

I hope Finn is proud of us.

Hey, guys! So, I don't really know how those meetings work, so I just kind of made it up. Thank you guys for getting me to 10k on Glee Club. It really means a lot.
