A/N: I know: YET ANOTHER UPDATE? It's like hell's frozen over. But seriously, I feel like I'm finally back on a roll with this story, and as much as I love it and the characters hold such a huge place in my heart, I first wrote the prologue two years ago and think I just want it done and dusted permanently. Also, just for future reference, there'll probably be some relatively explicit content in future chapters for those of you who aren't comfortable with it. Hope you like it! Love, River.

14: Sleeping Arrangements

The weeks had begun to slip by: before I knew it, the lease on my apartment had run out.

'So move in with me,' Drew had insisted, watching me scroll through endless pages of potential apartments. I had a week to find a new place to live, and I was kicking myself for leaving it so late.

I blinked, surprised, pushing my glasses all the way up my nose and forehead and into my hair, scraping it back so it was out of my face.

'I couldn't impose on you like that,' I said dubiously, chewing my bottom lip and shaking my head. 'It's fine.'

'Supernova, it is honestly fine. We're getting married, woman, so it's the next most rational thing to do. We can look into getting a proper house soon too, and then we'll be like those weird little Sylvanian family toy things with our white picket fenced house,' Drew said with a laugh.

'You'll see me at my ugliest and then you'll find me so repulsive that you won't marry me,' I warned him. I was like butter in his hands, his words had convinced me that easily.

Drew wrinkled his nose. 'Please, I've seen you in these,' he said, grabbing my glasses off of my head and slipping them onto his own face. Wincing, he squinted through them. 'Jeez Nova, you're really blind without these,' he said, taking them off himself and putting them back on my face.

The action was like something out of a movie, and I could feel my heart rate increasing.

'Plus, I've seen you naked, so I think I've seen all there is to see,' Drew said slyly, his mouth pulling up on one side into a cheeky half smile.

My face reddened and I turned away from him, biting my lip as I tried to hide my embarrassed smile.

'Stopppp, Drew, you're honestly making me blush,' I said, swatting at him with my hand as he burst out laughing. 'And I can't believe you insulted my glasses! They're geek chic,' I insisted, repeating, 'Geek chic,' as he grabbed his side, he was laughing so hard.

'Oh Nova,' Drew said, wiping tears of laughter from the corners of his green eyes with his thumb when his fit of mirth had subsided. 'Now come on, cut the crap and save us both the trouble by moving in with me. Don't make me beg.'

I raised my eyebrows. 'I'd quite like to see you beg,' I said, amused.

'All those Fifty Shades of Grey comments and remarks about me being the kinky one, when you're the closet perv! But I can vaguely recall you being the one begging that night a few weeks ago,' Drew quipped mischievously, making me bury my burning face in my hands.

And that was how I ended up moving in with Drew. I sold almost all of my furniture on eBay, so all I had to really take with me were my clothes, which didn't amount to all that much, and my beloved little mini armchair from my bedroom.

'I guess it's a bachelor pad no more,' I said with a grin as I walked into his flat, hand brushing against the doorframe as I did so, as if I was making my mark on the place that was now kind of my official home.

Drew was laden with all my boxes and bags, insisting that he would carry it all, and he didn't seem to mind all that much. He set my stuff down to the side.
