It had started about three days ago. Keith had locked himself in his room and refused to come out. This had in fact, alarmed the team for many different reasons, mainly, Keith was their friend, trust is important, training, family dinner, and voltron. About a week before all of this had happened Keith was oddly more antisocial than usual and moody. It was like he was going through an even more emo rebellious teenage faze just more extreme than normal, or mabye that's just a bad comparison, but still it was pretty bad.

Fast forward to two days before Keith locked himself away and the team had just finished training, they had all decided to hit the showers and when Lance came out to retrieve his dirty, sweat soaked gym shirt he was alarmed to find it missing. Now this wouldn't have been so bad had Lance not have been stuck in space with only six other people, and the fact that that was one of Lance's favorite gym shirts.

Now fast forward to present time on the fourth day of Keith's space room lock down and Lance felt like he was going to die. He, for some odd reason, was the one most effected by Keith's odd behavior. To be honest Lance didn't expect Keith ignoring him would be this bad, but now that the situation has arose Lance would take a punch to the face if only Keith would say something to him (though he'd never admit that.) The whole team had tried again to get Keith out of his room that day only to fail again.

Now Lance was laying in his bed wide awake at what he'd guessed was around midnight thinking only of Keith. Keith. Why did it have to be Keith? Lance groaned lifting himself from his bed in a daze, he had to get out of that room and to where he didn't care. Of course he ended up at the door only four feet down the hall from his, the door he always had to pass, that he used to be able to pass without issue, but now everytime he passed it he wanted to break down and beg for it to open, beg for that stupid black haired mullet to insult him.

Lance sighed leaning his forehead against the cool metallic door. "Keith please, I need to see you, I want to help you through whatever it is your going through, no matter what that may be. I don't want to be your rival right now, I want to be your friend. The person you can rely on." Lance mumbled aloud but not loud enough for anyone more than a few feet away could hear. Lance stood there for what felt like forever but was probably really only a few minutes.

After a moment Lance heard a click started he stumbled back a few steps before the door in front of him cracked open and in a minute he pushed inside that door locking it behind him.

The first thing Lance noticed was the shape of the room. There were empty water bottles everywhere, various alien food wrappers thrown in a pile, feathers from Keith's shredded pillow, claw marks on the wall, and purple hair (fur?) in various places around the room. Lance had a sinking feeling in his stomach and that was when he turned around to face Keith.

That was the second thing Lance noticed, Keith. Puffy, red eyed, bitten lipped, purple botched, cat eared, Keith.

The third thing Lance noticed was Keith's shirt, more specifically Lance's missing gym shirt.

"My shirt." Lance blinked causing Keith's eyes to widen in suprise. "L-Lance are you not seeing that I'm - I'm a-a." Keith couldn't finish before breaking down in another fresh set of tears. "A Galra? You may be part Galra, but your still Keith. Nothing can change the fact that your Keith, a teammate, a paladin, a friend, my crush, Keith." Lance spoke out firmly before enveloping Keith into a hug. "Did you just say crush?" Keith asked in a small voice through a wave of violent hiccups.

"It may have slipped." Lance admitted sheepishly.

Keith didn't really know what to do, and quite frankly he didn't want to think about that. He was perfectly fine with just staying in Lance's embrace and so that's what he did and when he woke up that morning he was still in Lance's embrace having had the best sleep he'd had in two weeks.

Lance was shaken awake timidly by the purplish boy in front of him. Lance sat up and stretched before looking over and cupping Keith's face. Keith knew after hearing Lance's confession he'd have to adress it eventually, and now was the perfect chance. Keith leaned forward a placed his lips against Lance's hesitantly letting the blue paladin take control. The kiss wasn't rough, because Lance knew Keith wasn't ready. Keith needed just the gentle affection Lance could bring him, without it Keith wouldn't have been able to ever open up to people again, and that was solid fact.

When the two parted Lance was smiling and Keith was smiling as well and it wasn't so bad anymore.

"Hey Keith why did you take my shirt?" Lance asked after helping tidy up Keith's room a bit. "It was the only thing I had that kept me from going completely insane. It reeks of you. It made me feel like you were right beside me." Keith grumbled blushing. "Well I was thinking." Lance began. "Mmmhmm." Keith hummed raising an eyebrow at his boyfriend. "You actually look pretty good in it, so I was thinking you could keep it." Lance smiled pecking Keith's scarlet cheek.

"I don't care if your a Galra, human, or some weird screaming alien girl, Keith I'll always love you. Because if that wasn't what I was born to do then, I'm completely clueless about life." Lance laughed pulling Keith in for another kiss. Humanity could wait, and so could voltron. They weren't going to rush things.
