Jonathan went into your room later on that night to tell you that he was leaving for London to investigate the medicine that Dio was giving their father.
"Don't get yourself killed Jojo, I heard that London is a dangerous place filled with lots of gangs." You had told him. Jonathan patted your head in response. "Don't worry (YN) I know how to handle a group of thugs, they shouldn't be that much of a challenge for me."
"What if one has a strange hat that has blades come out of it and he throws it at you?" You said voicing the most random thought that came across your head. Jonathan sweat dropped at your questioned and let out a small laugh. "Guess I'll just have to dodge it."
After your brief conversation it was as though you were in a trance. You weren't sure what was the truth anymore. You had just recently accepted your feelings for Dio and now a bombshell like this hit making you question everything again. All the conversions and letters you two shared seemed to be distant memories that could easily be manipulated. It was very likely that Dio could have been playing you the whole time and wasn't the least bit interested in you. Just using you and tossing you around like a cat with a mouse.
"(YN)?" A soft knock on your door awoke you. You hadn't got much sleep from the night before due to your mind constantly racing with thoughts and ideas on the situation that was currently at hand. "Come in." You groggily answered. You moved to sit up on your bed, letting out a yawn and stretching your arms out. You rubbed your eyes from tiredness as footsteps made their way to your bed. "Well aren't you a sight to see in the morning."
"Oh I bet I am a sight to see just not a very wonderful one to view." You wittily replied.
"I wouldn't say that I rather like your disheveled hair at the moment." Dio chuckled.
"Well you my sir are a man of very strange taste."
Dio looked hesitant on what he was about to say next, but eventually let out a breath and came out with it. "I'm sorry about the other day, when it comes to my father I lose my cool." You raised an eyebrow at him. "You don't say?" You paused debating if you should ask the next question. "What did your father do that made you hate him?"
Dio's eyes turned cold and a stern look replaced the relaxed one he had on his face. "Where would I even begin on that man? He treated my mother like horse shit, abusing and cheating on her. He barely cared when she died and after she did he gabbled all our money away and tried to make me sell my mother's clothes to buy booze." He explained. "It's a good thing a man as wicked as that is dead now." He added and looked at the wall in deep thought until he felt two small arms wrap around him.
"(Y-YN)?" Dio stuttered, breaking his character as he looked at you hugging him.
"I'm sorry you had to go through a childhood like that. No one should have to have their family treat them like that, though it sounds like your mother was nice." You said trying to reassure him.
You looked up to see an actual smile on Dio's face making your heart thump. Sure him smirking was attractive, but nothing would ever look as attractive on him than the little smile he had on right now.
