Squirrelflight's POV

Walking around the camp, I really got the feel for how the queens felt, with their big belly and not able to go out and hunt and not patrol. ' I hate being stuck in camp all day! ' I thought, growling to myself. A song appeared in my head and started playing.

A hunting patrol came through the thorn barrier with a couple of mice, a rabbit, a squirrel. Ashfur came in with a rabbit after them. I turn slowly and padded to the nursery. Daisy purred in her sleep, Brightheart recently moved into the nursery because she was expecting Cloudtail's kits. I gently laid myself down in my nest and fell asleep.

Ashfur's POV

I padded through the thorn barrier with a nice plump rabbit for Squirrelflight but when I spot her she was making her way back to her nest. So I make my way after her only to get stopped by Firestar. "Congradulations on your new kits" He said, looking at me. I looked at Squirrelflight as she squeezed into the nursery. I sighed, "Thank you Firestar..." I said. I looked over at Squirrelflight and I watch as she goes into the nursery.

'Well, may as well organize more patrols...' I sighed. I looked at the nursery again and Leafpool goes in. A couple of minutes later, she rushes out and hurries into the medicine cat den. Her and Jayfeather come back out and Jayfeather is carrying herbs. A yowl of pain comes from the nursery and Sandstorm hurries over and goes in. Firestar looks at the nursery, "Well, It seems like there's more kits to come into the world today." He said. Ashfur walks over to the nursery and stands outside. "Its ok Sister." I heard Leafpool say to Squirrelflight softly. "It'll be over soon!" Sandstorm said to Squirrelflight. Squirrelflight gave a small cry and a little mew was heard around the camp. "Great job! It's a tom!" Leafpool said. I squeezed in and laid beside Squirrelflight. "I'm here now, love." I whispered into her ear.

Squirrelflight looked at me panting, her eyes glazed over with pain and fear so I just licked the top of her head trying to comfort her the best I could and another kit slid into the nest. "It's another tom!" Leafpool said proudly. A spam ripped through Squirrelflight's pelt as another wet bundle fell into the nest. "A she~cat! Well done my dear sister." Leafpool purred. Sandstorm licked Squirrelflight's head and purred happily. Jayfeather gave the kits a check up and Leafpool and Sandstorm went to announce the new litter to the clan. I still laid beside Squirrelflight, "You did a wonderful job!" I purred at her.

She nodded slowly, tired I could have guessed. I've seen many she~cats look like this. "I'll let you get some sleep love." I said.
