Gaurav Pareek, a 23-year-old Banker, who is also the Digital Communications director at the Rotaract Club of Bombay Queens Town. He did his schooling from St. Francis High school, HSC from R.D National college and BAF from KC college. At a tender age due to high fever, the connections in his ears got weakened. At first, everything felt normal but his hearing sensations started to deteriorate slowly, year by year. This was brought to Gaurav’s realisation when his school friends claimed to be able to catch his attention only by tapping his shoulder. After being in denial, he finally decided to consult a doctor. That was the time, when he was diagnosed with Sensorineural Hearing Loss. He feels thankful towards the existence of hearing aids that amplifies sound and increases his hearing by 20% making life easier for him. He prefers the shades of white and black in equality, believing that life is neutral. According to him everyone comes with their own pros and cons. He puts on the happy cape, and always tries his best to look at life with a positive attitude. His humorous streak makes him tell everybody, that he is gifted with the most peaceful sleep, because no noise from the surrounding can wake him up. Dwelling on the positive side, doesn’t make him neglect the obstacles. Neither does he deny the inability to talk in groups and on the phone, nor does he deny his understanding and processing to be slow. He firmly believes that someday a device will be invented which would help people with partial hearing loss to have a conversation on the phone, while he strongly believes that the inventor would be he, himself. He claims to be very good with numbers and a graphic designer with a dark sense of humour. The motivational side of him believes in ‘The best is yet to come’. He looks forward to the movies he is yet to watch, series he is yet to finish, jokes he is yet to drop, food he is yet to eat, places he is yet to go and pictures he is yet to click. Also, his family and friends always gave him a boost to live his life normally. He lives by the rule that making others happy will give him happiness. He feels that ‘satisfaction’ is overrated. According to him the urge to have a perfect life destroys happiness.Quoting fearless Gaurav – “Good going little buddy, be badass. You will turn out to be a suave looking dude in future. Tell papa to invest in bulk in Eicher Motors NSE share, we’ll be rich”
