(Seto's POV)
The image twists and turns in the water; it was losing power.
I added another tablespoon of clear shimmer and ancridic dragon blood. Finally the brown and red swirls came into focus and there he was.
His dashing brown hair stood to attention styled on his head perfectly. His eyes glowed with concentration as he stood, bow and arrow in hands aiming for a nearby animal, probably a deer. He wore his signature red and black chequered hoody an red converse, which I had come to assume meant he was training.
There was no time more brilliant to be with him than when he is training. No other time when the sparkle that has flowing out of him is so prominent, so beautiful that one particular time it was so overwhelming that i had to look away.
Having shot whatever he was aiming for, he looked around, then directly at me. Me? of course he couldn't see me, to him I wasn't real, to me all he was, was an image in a bowl of water. but every second I spent gazing over him felt so real. And every moment when we locked eyes I would always hold my breath hoping that one day i will find him and on that day i will be able to hold him in my arms and whisper that I loved him. It was just a thought.
Just a thought.
This boy who I had never met, never spoke to was slowly, unknowingly taken over my life. I remember the first time I saw him. I was only checking in now and again on the village, when I thought I saw something move in the corner of my eye. I told myself it was nothing, until I saw it again.
This time i stopped and observed the trees just for a moment and there he was. It wasn't just the red in his Hoody I saw it was his sparkle, blood red. Beautiful blood red. Being a sorcerer i could see everyone's sparkle, they're were all a different colour, purple, blue, green but never a red, he was different. And never had I ever seen a sparkle as bright as his, WOW.
Over time, I began to watch him, I would seek him out on my rounds. He was always in the woods, away from society, away from everyone else, like me. Some would say I had an obsession with him, they would if anyone knew.
That first day, lead to many others which leads me to now. Watching over the boy whose smile could melt a thousand hearts, this boy who is the only person I have ever watched who has a sparkle so bright which never falters, never disappears, never deteriorates, always glowing and growing though everything.
I hear a low grumble behind me, "what's his name?" I hear it ask.
"Mitch," I answer surprised my voice doesn't crack. Still I do not turn.
"He's quite something, I see why you like him."
"What do you want Bashur?" I ask still not looking at him, watching Mitch as he wanders home.
"you know why I am here." I did
"I'm not ready yet, There are still way too many variables which could go wrong," I answer begging rather than asking, "I need more time"
"Time?" He laughs "You have had enough time, I told you, 3 weeks, you agreed on my terms." He paused tracing his fingers over an open spell book which i carelessly left laying around. With a flick of my wrist an unseen hand slammed it closed. Un-fazed, Bashur continued "I'm here to collect"
"don't make me do this" I pleaded, for what seemed like the 100th time looking down into the fading image of Mitch floating in the water.
"I'm not making you do this, Seto, you agreed to do this, are you backing out?" He asked innocently as he made his way around to the opposite side, facing me with only the bowl in between us.
"I don't want any part in this." I replied through gritted teeth finally looking up to face the green glowing man in front of me. Like I said I see everyone's sparkle, their drive, the thing that keeps them going, Bashur's was green and it glowed brightest when he was threatening me.
"Now there is a problem with that, I need you Seto, you know I do, I wouldn't want to do anything drastic." suddenly on Bashur's outstretched palm was a perfect representation of Mitch, my Mitch. "Mitch, Nice name" He smiled evilly "You know what happens next Seto, you have 5 minutes, we will be waiting in the car, I expect you to be ready and willing, you may be away for a while, and I don't know maybe your friend "Mitch" can join you." He used his name like a weapon, spitting it like venom in my face. he created a fist with his palm, the image of Mitch floating out into the air.
In case you haven't guessed, Bashur dabbles in black magic but he is not strong enough to pull off what he wants me to do.
"5 minutes" He said as he left. I looked down at the liquid, at Mitch. A tear dribbled down my cheek, falling onto Mitch's face, he looks up probably thinking it was rain and begins to jog th rest of the way home.
I didn't need much, just my spell books. I packed them in an enchanted backpack, which made it lighter than it was. Pulling my purple hood over my face to hide my tears I left, closing the door silently, knowing that every light would go out as I left. The car, as promised waited outside, Bashur stood there holding the door, one of his body guards sat in the drivers seat.
When I got in, as expected, the doors locked behind me. Bashur followed sitting up front grinning "see wasn't that easy" what he didn't see was my dampened face dripping through my cloak. I simply bowed my head.
In less than a minute we had arrived. I knew it wasn't close, it was likely to be across the county rather than a minute away but obviously Bashur used a spell so I wouldn't know where it was he had taken me, very clever.
"There is only one other resident so far," He turned to face me. "but don't worry, I'll get you some fiends" He smirked.
I looked up at the foreboding building we were rapidly approaching and let out one final remaining silent sob before we entered, knowing I probably wouldn't be leaving alive. And neither would Mitch.

I would like to point out that Bashur is not an evil psychopath but he was just perfect for this role so I had to <3
