(Mitch's POV)
The night was silent, holding it's breath. I felt frozen, cold and unmoving.
Despite seeing years of my hard work floating out by the surrounding Forrest trees, I was not afraid.
I have been starved, ignored, broken; I have been forced to hunt for food, just for my family to survive. A simple threat doesn't scare me. Being magically thrown about like a rag doll doesn't scare me. What does scare me is that I have been lying in bed for 3 hours, I have been watching the clock and the sun but as the hours pass, no light has made its way through the curtains.
I can still hear the light breathing of my mother and father in the next room, undisturbed by my thundering about the house.
I don't get out of bed at all. I'm scared to move. While all of time stands still so do I.
"Mitch" A man stood tall, leaning on my bedroom door frame with his palm, face up. glowing in his hand appeared to be a miniature image of............me? He grinned at the figure, "Nice name."
I launched myself out of bed and to my feet. I didn't run. I simply stood watching the Man with bright daring eyes. "what do you want?" I snarl.
He closes his hand, watching as the mini me disappears and then he looks up with a hint of surprise on his face. "well, you're strait to the point, aren't you?"
Anger floods through me. "You destroyed every single one of my bows, break into my house and you expect me to beat around the bush?" I used whatever strength i have left not to tackle him to the floor. "so what do you want?"
The man did not answer at first, he simply wandered through the door and inspected the room.
I took this time to really look at the man. He wore his hair long on one side, slightly covering one of his luminous green eyes. he had a long sleeved black trench coat, black leather trousers (which were not too tight) and a plain black t-shirt. The only splashes of colour visible were the green in his eyes and on his shoes which had a long green stripe down each leg.
"There is a man, his name is seto," He paused looking up at me as if to make sure I am listening. "I need his help with one of my projects." He said the word projects more like a question rather then an answer.
"What does that have to do with me?" I ask nervously.
The man stops looking around and stares directly into my eyes, "Unfortunately for you, seto has developed a liking towards you, the boy with the chequered hood." His smile was distracted like he was thinking of a long forgotten joke. I consciously pulled my coat tighter around my chest. "In fact I would say it was more than a liking, he has become quite fond of you. All those years of hunting in secret, thinking only you knew what was going on behind the trees," He pointed out of my window for emphasis. "you were wrong."
"Seto has been watching you grow old in the woods, getting stronger. And now, I can finally use his weakness to my advantage."
I was shaking inside. I was surprised that I looked half decent as I stared down this stranger wandering though my room.
From his pocket, he produced a purple bag, which he swung absent mindedly back and forth. He stepped closer to me but I did not back away.
"who are you?" I managed to choke.
Purposefully taking his time opening the bag he answered, "My friends call me Bashur."
My eyes removed themselves from the bag and stared at the man, "and what about the people who are not your friends?" I ask.
"They're dead." He answers simply. Then he dragged his hand out of the bag, now holding a pile of green dust. Bashur pulled it up to his face and blew the little grains into my eyes nose and lungs.
It burned and I felt instantly sick. Dizziness washed over me and the world turned black.
The whole time the smell of watermelons filled my senses and one single thought escaped before I blacked out.
Where the hell are my parents?
And then everything was gone.
(Sky's POV)
~~~~~~Raise your hand if you expected it, put your hand down!~~~~~~~
"Do you have to be so dramatic?" I ask, standing in the doorway with my hands leisurely resting in my pockets.
"Shut up and help me." Bashur yelled, attempting to drag the limp, lifeless body out of the room. Without argument I walked over and slipped my arm under the boys waist and easily pulled him over my right shoulder.
"How long is he going to be out for?" He felt light as a feather but I still found it difficult maneuvering him down the steps without bashing his head about.
"Roughly 3 hours," Bashur replied grinning and glowing with pride. Freaking psychopath I thought. "And the parents?" He inquired.
"Not long" I stated. I was genuinely surprised that they slept though the whole conversation. I remember the last guy we brought in. He woke up less than an hour before Bash hit him with the dust, he was a real problem. Good think we had that Seto guy.
We were careful not to slam the front door as we left. I placed the boy in the back seat and then dove behind the wheel myself.
I try not to question Bashur, it would be easy for him to dispose of me without anyone knowing. I have no family or friends to miss me. No one would know. It is a scary thought.
But I can't help but wonder why we are doing this. I mean, we just kidnapped a kid for gods sake! How old was he anyway, 17? I'm sick of Bashur dragging me into his insane plans.
I guess it was my own fault, I got myself involved when I agreed to become his personal bodyguard. Well, that's what he calls it but I know he really means Henchman.
It was never really a choice, I might as well be in the same position as Seto. Doing the bad guys dirty work to help save the one I love.
"Hurry up, Sky, I wanna get there before he wakes up." Bashur interrupts my thoughts and I press harder on the accelerator. We would be there in less than 10 minutes anyway thanks to his spell. But still he finds something to yell at me about.
God I hate Bashur!
