Ross- He is Katalinas father and he has been a preacher in his church since he was 25 years old. He grew up with the mindset that blacks and whites shouldn't mix. He is very stubborn and he is hard on Katalina cause he knows that there is pressure out in the world. She is also his only daughter of three other boys.
Abby- She is Katalinas mother and she met Ross when they were young and it was in their church. She was always involved with the church and she has the same beliefs as Ross does in the racial parts. She isn't as stubborn about it though. She just doesn't want her children to do it, as ross doesn't want anyone to.
Nick- He is 14 years old and he is Katalinas brother. He is big into sports, such as football, wrestling, and basketball. He is big into church too but he also loves his sports. Him and Katalina don't always see eye to eye because he is very loud and he doesn't focus as much on reading and church as she does.

Him and Kat always got along because they had the same mind set of wanting to change the world and be a good person. They drifted apart a lot since he went to college though.

Brandon- He is the oldest brother and he is 21. He is a partier and he likes to go out a lot. He cared a lot about school while in highschool, now he doensnt focus as much on church and school. He graduated college already but hasn't done anything since. He lives with his friends and he comes home very often. Him and Kat were kind of close cause he is very protective of her, and he still is.
