Meeting Brooklyn

Ciara's Point of View:

Today, I'm going to Chance's house to meet with his family and to especially meet his daughter Brooklyn.

I get to the address and knock on the door and wait patiently for someone to answer.

The door opens and I see a lady who I'm guessing is his mom.
"Hi, I'm Cara! I'm a friend of Chance's!" I said.

"So you're a pretty girl he's been talking about known stop! I'm his mother Shawnee!" She said as she sticks her hands out for me to shake.

I shake her hand "It's nice to meet you!" I said.

"It's nice to meet you too, Sweetheart! Please come in" she said.

I entered her home.

"Chance should be getting home soon. His daughter will probably get here before he does though! You can have a seat if you want" she said.

"Thank you" I replied as I sat down on the couch across from her and she sat on the other couch across from me.

"You have a lovely home, Mrs. Perez" I said.

"Thank you and please call me Shawnee!" She said.

I smile at her and she smiles back.

Not long after talking to each other, Shawnee had to go to the store real quick to get a couple of things.
Hopefully, she would be back by the time Brooklyn arrived.

I stayed seated on the couch all by myself still waiting for Chance to get here.

*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*

I go to the door and look through the peep hole to see a girl with blonde hair probably my age, holding a little girl in her arms.
I'm guessing that's Brooklyn and her mother.

Just in case I'm wrong I decided to ask questions, still looking through the peep hole " Who is it?" I asked.

"Shawnee, it's me, Emma and Brooklyn!" She replied.

I pulled away from the peep hole and unlocked the door, opening it.

"Hi" I said.

"Oh, hello... Are you a family relative?" She asked.

"No, I'm actually a friend of Chance's. My name is Cara!" I said.

"Oh, so your the lovely girl he's been talking about!" She said.

"I guess so! Come in!" I said as I let her enter the house with Brooklyn still in her arms.

She sets Brooklyn down on the floor and she starts running around and playing with her toys.

"Shawnee had to go get some things real quick but she'll be back and Chance should be getting back from rehearsal anytime soon!" I said.

"Can I ask you a question?" She asked.

"Yeah I guess" I replied.

"Okay, I want you to know first that even though me and Chance are no longer in a relationship... We're still good friends. And second, I'm not the rude, selfish, crazy ex if that's what you're thinking, I'm actually a nice person!" She explained.

"Okay, that's good to know cause I'm not wanting to cause any drama" I said.

We both giggled a bit on what we were saying to each other.

"Okay, so my question is do you like Chance? Like more than a friend?" She asked.

Surprised on what she just asked me, I took a deep breath before answering " I don't know, maybe" I replied.
