On the edge of one of the rocky hills he sat staring as this Sun settled into the horizon. The map was a bit off of where they were needing to be at.

"Why didn't they name their star something more.. Science fiction?" Robert shouted from where he sat. "Should have been something snazzier than Sun. We already got one."

"Wait til the second one rises in an hour."

"What?" Robert perked up.

"Yeah a smaller star rises in the east. We just call it 2nd Light." Dean snorted. "There is the Moon as well, and one they call its sibling."

"Could be worse. Could be a set a numbers like on Shannon." Savannah responded

Shannon, another planet owned by Ztek out further. It took three years to reach that had other resources to take back to Earth. It was for the people who were into more riskier space life. He wasn't one of them , he thought this trip was going to be a lot smoother. He couldn't imagine what it was like for those folks.

It was named after the founder of the company. The planet they were standing on, Selene, named after his wife.

"Have you been?" He asked.

"My brother's been there for ten years. He left at eighteen. The issues they have are the frequent tornadoes. It has an abundance of oil that is making him a lot of money. They're working on sending them home in a few months."

"You didn't stay back to meet him?"

"I needed money and this was the only place willing to hire me."

"What? How come?"

"Didn't graduate high school, never been to university. AIn't know shit about tech and I am not great at entertainment." She giggled, "Why did you come?"

"To pay for college." He answered, truthfully.

"You serious?" Savannah laughed. "That's j-j-j-us-t-t-t --" the word became stuck in her mouth. Her face tensed up as this happened soon the stuttering was just a noise unlike the words she was saying.

Laura hurried to sit next to her. She reassuringly rubbed the woman's shoulders. Soon the woman relaxed and the smiling woman was back to proper function.

"Fucksake." She spit. "Aleks said it'll ease up after awhile."

"What happened?" Robert asked staring at the group.

"She hit her head when we fell into the water. She also suffered from not breathing for a few minutes. The damage is lengthy but when we get back to our station. We'll be able to do more to help." Laura explained.

"Get down from there and come along. We need to rest a bit before we leave this area. Like I said, shit gets cold."

Dean stood up from where he was sitting. He moved closer to the cave that. They each had a blanket. Robert finally jumped down, he tilted for a moment as he forgot he didn't have his left leg anymore. He cussed heavily under his breath but waved away any help from Laura or Greg.

Tucked inside the cave they smooshed together to share heat. The further into the night the colder it got. How he had wished Dean had exaggerated when he said things got cold there. He felt the cold through his toes to the top of his head, he didn't think his teeth would stay in place how hard he was chattering.

A thick muscular arm stretched out pulling him closer. A grumbling complaint came out of the man but he wrapped his blanket around Robert. It was awkward coming from a person who had no issue telling him or Savannah that he'd easily ditch them out here or let them freeze to death.

But the thoughts melted away as he was finally able to sleep.

================================================================

That morning, Dean and Laura were up squashing the fire they had for that evening. It was so cold, he doubted the thing actually assisted them.

"I got into contact with Ztek earlier." Dean stated, "They think they have the correct coordinates now."

"I think we see it!" shouted Savannah waving her hands and jumping in excitement. She started to point in the direction she was speaking of. A shimmering light hovered over in the distance.

"Oh good! Good." Laura started running toward the front. "Shit, sorry, man."

"Nah, you're fine. Go." Robert waved her on. Ah damn it. He slowly started and managed a light jog toward the group. He finally caught up and was all smiles with Dean glaring at them.

"What's up his ass?" Savannah asked before she took off ahead of them. Laura winced -- as she started racing after the woman.

"It's strange that they gave us incorrect coordinates.." Dean commented.

"Well, you said that Aleks barely leaves their station."

"They should have had the same information that Z had."

"Well, we're going to be the last ones to our new homes." Robert answered with a smile, "Race ya!"

And, he was off. Dean said something but Robert wasn't paying enough attention -- just focused on each slap across the ground making his way toward the trio.

"Think?" Robert asked.

"Don't hold your breath." Savannah snorted,"At this rate we may end up being apart of the beach."

"How's your leg?" Laura asked switching the gears of their conversation. Savannah looked up ready for his answer.

"Good so far. How are you Savannah?"

"So far." She winked and started hurrying to catch up with Dean.

"Do you think he'd actually let us all die out here?" Robert asked as him and Laura started to follow. Greg was almost at pace with Robert but several feet from him. He was what looked to be admiring the ocean. They weren't close to them but enough to watch it. It was syrupy and the waves seem to struggle to form.

"I don't know. But his last crew everyone died mysteriously."

"I thought the vehicle blew up."

"That's what is in the official reports but not everyone believes it." Laura lowered her voice. She stole a glance toward Dean to make sure he wasn't listening. Then she looked toward the rocky hills that they were leaving. "I heard most of the hills are like this. Spiky, hardened with caves in them. They almost look as if someone created them from the aerial photographs."

"My team was going to the southern hemisphere. The earth there is dark, a deeper red than these beaches. The station that we were going to live at was in the middle we weren't going to be this close to the ocean. It still had hills like this but no caves."

"Oh, maybe then they are created by whoever lived here previously." Her face lit up with excitement, "What do they harvest in the south?"

"Mostly oil and diamonds." He shrugged, "I was apart of the mining team. But they transferred me to you all. They say that my skills will easily transfer here."

"Yep, everything we do up here is digging and working in tunnels. The last team found pockets of underground ponds full of an ocean mix substance that Zeek uses for their equipment on Earth. Tons of money, but of course, the assholes decided they wanted us to look for them ourselves."

"Z didn't demand they share the coordinates?"

"Nah, they prefer a little competition. They see it as something that betters their company. The more we dig and get the resources out of this earth and ship it back -- the better it is for them."
