Lena sighed as she finished hanging up her clothing in the closet in the room that would be hers from now on. Looking around the room she nearly gagged as she took in the color of the room. It was what Lena could only call a lime green which had been darkened and dulled to a shade she could only describe as puke from cigarette smoke.

"You okay in here?"

Inessa, her mother asked from the doorway making a mental note to make time to spend some one on one time with her oldest daughter later that day.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

Lena practically snapped as she went over and sat down on the bed, her back toward her mother though Inessa just sighed and went over to take a seat beside of her.

"okay miss moody, what's with the silent treatment?"

She questioned, though she was sure she already knew the answer.

"It's not important."

Lena responded, earning a light glare from Inessa who responded

"Elena, stop being stubborn. We both know that you are lying. It won't do any good holding it all in."

Lena didn't speak for a few minutes though she knew her mother was too stubborn to just drop the subject.

"It's not that I don't understand why I couldn't stay with Dad but I am terrified that I won't make any friends here. I only had four friends at my old school....What if I don't make any here?"

Lena finally said, her voice breaking as she turned to her mother.

"Lena, everything will be okay. I know this whole ordeal has been hard on you and your sister but I promise everything will be okay."

Inessa stated, putting her arm around the fourteen year old who just sighed and leaned against her.

"How can you be so sure about that Mom? That's what you and Dad said when I started junior high!"

Inessa sighed as she heard the annoyance in Lena's tone though she just responded

"Because you are bright, charming and open minded, who wouldn't want to be friends with you?"

Before Lena could think of a response to her mother she could hear her six year old sister calling for them in the other room.

"I think Katya just woke up."

Lena chuckled, earning a sigh from Inessa.

"At least that's one of us that can get some Rest. Why don't you go look through the local phone book and find a restaurant that looks like it would be something we all could enjoy and I'll order take out tonight?"
