Lena hated heights with a passion though while sitting in the brightly colored fort that Yulia claimed to have built by herself wasn't so bad. The Brunette was currently rummaging around in boxes looking for something while she had Listened to Lena exsplain what had brought her and her family to this town.
"I couldn't imagine going through that. You are one tough person, to be honest I would probably still burst into tears at the thought of it."
Yulia commented though Lena couldn't imagine the dark haired girl to be that sensitive about anything since she seemed to ooze an aura that clearly said that if you brushed her the wrong way you would regret it.
"I aren't really. I just know it is for the best for all of us. I hated hearing them fight all the time....That was the worst."
Lena responded, glancing down at the bottle of soda in her hands.
"Hey, you're still better than I would be. I'd probably hate both of my parents for a while I mean....My family is close you know? I'd hate not seeing either of them every day. Sorry if I'm upsetting you....I just figured if you needed to rant to someone I'm as good as anyone."
Yulia said, turning to face the redhead who just shook her head.
"You're not. I mean....It hurts to think about but that's all I've done for weeks now."
Lena responded before adding, in order to change the subject
"So how did you end up making this place?"
Yulia blushed a bit at that before she retorted
"Well when my Dad bought the property he more or less turned three houses into one, which is why the apartment building is longer than it is tall, unlike most. He had a lot of lumber left over and my cousin and his Dad lived here at that time because they were helping Dad and well....He got on my last nerve so I took all the left over lumber and paint and made me a place where he couldn't find me. My parents know where I am so it doesn't matter, I only really ever go to two places to get away from everything and they know to just let me be until I'm ready to come back you know?"
Yulia answered before blushing, adding
"oh by the way sorry if you heard anything weird last night....My friend Anna left candy in the crawlspace....attic.....whatever the heck you wanna say it is and there was a huge ass rat up there and I don't do well with mice."
Lena couldn't help but giggle at how flustered Yulia looked.
"At least you didn't scream like a banshee. I would have. I was starting to think this place was haunted."
Lena retorted, earning a laugh from Yulia who seemingly forgot about her embarrassment in that moment.
"These buildings aren't that old! Besides if it was it would be by some crazy cat lady that lived on the first floor or one of her twenty cats. My parents wouldn't put her out because of her age but damn....I remember seeing cats just come in and out of her window....especially this big mean tabby that hated me for some reason and I was only....seven at that time!"
Yulia responded, still laughing though Lena could tell it wasn't to actually poke fun at her.
"Well sorry I didn't know everything was connected by a secret tunnel!"
Lena retorted though this only seemed to fuel Yulia's laughter more.
"Sorry. I just thought of something funny....Can you imagine an really fat ghost cat trying to charge at someone and getting irritated when they just float through them?"
The brunette said, causing Lena to roll her eyes though she couldn't help but chuckle.
"you're crazy but Maybe if my sister starts to follow us around I can tell her we're hunting for ghosts and she'll leave us alone."
Lena retorted, earning a grin from Yulia who retorted
"and you're evil obviously! But hey if she doesn't we can always paint Mrs. Pavlov's cat white and let him run past her!"
Lena couldn't believe how easy Yulia was to talk to. How the confident brunette seemed to just not care how weird that she was or the fact that Lena was beyond quiet sometimes.
"That's traumatic! Well to the cat!"
Lena finally retorted, suddenly glad that she had moved after all.
