Melody sat on Lewis's bed and gawked at the huge drum set.

"Like the drums?" Lewis asked.

"Yeah. They are really cool," Melody answered.

"They're my practice drums. I use them before a big show here at the hotel," Lewis replied.

"So you live here?" Melody asked.

"Not exactly. I stay here for long periods of time when I have to do weekly gigs," Lewis explained.

"Oh. Do you mind?" Melody asked, nodding her head towards the drums.

"Mind what?" Lewis asked.

"If you can do a little demo of your awesomeness," Melody asked.

"Gladly," Lewis answered.

Lewis sat down at the drums and held his drumsticks in mid air before starting a beat. Melody had to admit he was quite talented. The way he knew exactly how to stay on beat without messing up was true genius. Melody couldn't even tap on a table without fumbling.

Lewis quickly switched from the beat into a more familiar one. The cup song. How he did that mystified Melody. Melody couldn't do the cup song to save her life. In case you haven't noticed by now, Melody wasn't exactly a Mozart when it came to music.

Then, he ended it with another complex beat that Melody liked and stopped. Melody clapped like a hyperactive idiot.

"That was brilliant," Melody cheered.

"Thank you," Lewis replied.

"How long did it take you to learn how to do that?" Melody asked.

"Approximately three years," Lewis answered.

"Wow. Those three years taught you well," Melody replied.

"I guess. After that, I found a job here. They liked my drumming so I stayed for a while," Lewis continued.

"Do you like it here?" Melody asked.

"Yeah. It's awesome but I haven't been out lately. I always hung out in the hotel or practiced my drums," Lewis replied.

"That is about to change. You are gonna go out with me and experience the world," Melody demanded.

"When?" Lewis asked.

"Now, if you're ready," Melody answered.

"I've been ready since the day I was born," Lewis replied.

"Good," Melody said with a smile.

Things were about to get interesting.
