You Should Be Worried

Chapter 16

Bella couldn't hide her unhappiness. The minute they had to leave for Italy, she became bitter.

When they reached Volterra, and later the castle, she wanted to scream. Last time she was at the castle, it Issa cold and creepy. Now the very same castle was lit up and full of festivities.

What irked her even more was that Rosalie and Jasper who were normally cold and indifferent, now seemed to be the happiest people on earth. The inside of the castle was beautifully decorated and Bella was convinced that it was her sister's doing to make her feel worse about all of this.

"Son, we already took a huge risk. Bringing Bella here, still human." Carlisle said. "We cannot afford to anger the Volturi any further."

At the ceremony, Bella was livid. All the lavish stuff was just to make her jealous. She was sure if it. When Elezear started speaking and asked whether anyone was against the union, she just couldn't resist. She had to do it. So she did.

But of course, Jasper stopped her. Bella noticed Rosalie shooting her glares and cold looks throughout the ceremony but she paid her little attention.

She knew that Mia would do something to humiliate her now.

Her suspicions were confirmed when they went up to congratulate the couple. The two of them made such a scene out of it! And the way they talked to Edward! When Aro asked them to be shown out only Emmett and Alice followed. Bella knew that Jasper and Rosalie won't come. They were too caught up with 'Queen Amelia'.

"I knew it!" Bella said as soon as they were left alone as the reception. "She just wanted to humiliate me."

Alice sighed. "No Bella. Rosalie was right. You hate her. You bring it upon yourself. This is getting too much now. If you don't stop provoking the Volturi, you will get Edward and yourself killed." She said. "You're like my sister. But here, you're wrong. I don't even understand why you hate her to this extent. From what I've heard from Rose and Jasper, she quite pleasant."

"I've talked to her a few times myself." Emmett said. "I like her. And I think you objecting to the union was uncalled for. And we knew that it was a risk bringing you here without changing you. But maybe bringing you, human or vampire, was the the risk."

Then Alice and Emmett turned and left leaving Bella confused and angry.
