School
Rowan dressed in skinny black jeans and a 3-sizes-too-big grey hoodie. She combed through her red hair and tied it up in a bun. She slipped her stormy grey glasses onto her nose, checking to make sure that the tape on the corner on the frame was still sticking.
She grabbed her phone and binder, heading out the door and descending the stairs. She made her way up to the bus stop and stood silent and alone. She boarded the bus once it arrived, making her way to seat 9, sitting by a seemingly mute girl. Once the bus arrived to school- the middle school-, Rowan waited until the other passengers had left the bus before exiting and making her way to the hallway designated to her grade. She was immediately swept into the storm of students and made her way to the back of the hallway, slipping into her classroom.
Sitting in the seat beside her friend, Mariah Johanson, she arranged her binder for class, turning off her phone. Before she could say anything to Mariah, the bell rang and she cursed under her breath.
She stood up and walked to her first class, Mariah behind her as she fought her way through the crowd. They slipped into Mrs. Sonder's RLA class, and the bell rang. They made their way to their seats, and Rowan deafly wrote down notes.
She made her way to her second class, a boy named Fabian sitting next to her.
"Hey." Fabian spoke gently, his voice deep and raspy, monotonous.
"H-hi..." Rowan responded, looking at the smiling boy. She had seen him once or twice before in the hallways, but had never said anything beyond a mere 'hi'.
"It's.... Rowan, right?" He asked, looking down at her name on the paper of notes and nodding when he saw that he was correct.
"Yeah... Fabian?" She asked, jotting down a few more notes.
"Yep." He smirked, writing down his own notes.
