[5] Karen To the Rescue

"Seems like she took him away." Karen said as she sat beside Brook on a white bed. He looked at her.

"Or maybe he went away with her." Brook said.

"He wouldn't do that. Or at least, not without a reason..." Karen said, looking down and analyzing the things. "He must have been blackmailed by that woman."

"Huh, I always knew that brain of yours was a genius."

"Uh, no. I just saw the security cameras of the room."

Karen aimed with a finger at the roof on the wall behind her. Brook followed the finger and then sighed, looking at her.

"Couldn't you say it?" He said and she shrugged with an awkward smile.

Patty had a band- aid on her right cheek and she was in the security cameras room with the expert salamanders that typed too fast on their computers.

"Too bad this cameras have no sound... What could she have said?" Patty asked like to herself while wearing a red shirt of long sleeves, jeans, brown boots.

"She blackmailed him saying she would kill us," Aroeht said catching everyone attention and making everyone to turn around and look at the door of the room in which Aroeht stood at the edge of the door. "And she told him to make her a favor. He agreed for our sake and went away with her."

"How did you...?"

"Upgraded program."

"Right. I... forgot."

Patty said, holding a pen which she broke with her own grab. Aroeht nodded her head with a small smile of lips and said it was a pleasure to help and she walked out of the room. Patty sighed and turned around.

"Ma'am, your pen fell --"

"I know, Travis! Just keep working."

Patty said, hunching and picking it up as the so called "Travis" go back to type on his keyboard.

Aroeht was going downstairs wearing a gray jacket of long length and long sleeves and some black shirt, jeans, black boots, and two braids. She was walking past a wall when suddenly a hand grabbed her right wrist and pulled her behind that wall and covered her mouth with one hand. It was Ellis, standing behind her.

"What's with Drake that no one is telling me anything?"

Aroeht pushed her hand away with a sigh. "What's it with everyone? Am I a puppet?" She said and turned to Ellis. Ellis wore a military T-shirt, jeans, and some convers. Her trended hair was free. But her eyes were crystalline.

"Ellis, I would like to tell you but--"

"But what? He's my boyfriend and as leader of all the cyborg women, I should know --"

"I have to go."

"Aroeht!"

"See you later, Ellis."

Aroeht said while walking away and Ellis looked away with a sigh and kicked a table so that it fell along with frames and some of the survivors that were walking through the hallway gave little jumps scares but Ellis didn't care and she walked away.

Patty was going downstairs and Ellis found her.

"Patty, what's going on in here?"

"Oh. Hi, Ellis. Can you just wait a minute? I will catch up with you later."

Patty smiled and walked away. Ellis sighed, rolling her eyes and walking away.

Brook was sleeping till he heard the door of his room open so he looked at the doorway and smiled with his lips. "Hi." He said at seeing Aroeht standing at the door.

"Hi." She said and closed the door of the room and walked up to him and sat beside him with a smile.

"How will we do it?" Aroeht asked.

"How will we do what?"

"Tell Ellis. How is that happening? I mean, just a few minutes earlier she just attacked me."

"She did what?"

"I know! It is crazy! Who knows what else will she do,..." Aroeht started.

Ellis was talking with all the cyborg women. One by one. One at a hallway. One at a dinning room. One outside the building.  One inside the kitchen.

"And how far will she go... To get what she wants."

Aroeht said.

Patty and her security cameras workers stood outside the building which was rainy so she had a black hoodie on and they had lamps meanwhile Ellis stood in front of them with her cyborg women which some carried daggers, long sticks with knives, axes.

"I want answers. And it is now."

Ellis said while hitting a walking stick against the ground and two cyborg women (one with a knife and the other with an ax ) threw their weapons at two men so they landed on their chests and they fell.

But Karen elbowed Ellis' face so Ellis groaned and received a punch on the stomach. Ellis vomited blood and was about to fall but Karen held her with both arms and wore a hoodie of long length. The cyborg women also respected their second commander Karen, so they knelt on one knee and Karen looked at Patty who was breathing heavily.

"The search for Tom is over." Karen said and Patty frowns. "He is nowhere to be found." Karen said, lifting a piece of vendage on one fist. Tom's vendage. Patty breathed heavily and covered her mouth with both hands and she threw herself on her knees. Not being able to breath. She wasn't crying but she felt pain on her heart and she closed her eyes.
