(Narrator's Point Of View)

Papyrus is looking where he assumes Sans is standing, his empty eye sockets making Sans' forever smile falter.

"I-...I...I'm s-s-sorry P-Papyrus..."  Alphys says, guilt lacing her voice.

Papyrus is silent for a few moments, before replying, "But, you kept me from dying, right?"

"Y-Yes B-"  Alphys begins but Papyrus interrupts, "Then you saved my life!  The great Papyrus has only had his life saved on one other occasion!!!  Why are you sorry???  I'd rather be blind than dead, and why be sad about it, I can still practice and be in the royal guard, after all, I am the great Papyrus!"  Papyrus exclaims, a little "Nyeh heh heh!"  At the end, showing he wasn't upset with her at all.

Papyrus seemed so alright with being blinded, it almost surprised Alphys.

'Did he not realize it is permanent?'  Alphys wondered to herself.

Sans and Papyrus soon left, leaving Alphys to go into a "bathroom."

(Timeskip to a few days later brought to you by Snow poffs)

Papyrus had to miss training for the first few days, as he can't navigate the house, without breaking something or himself.

Sans is watching over him currently, as Papyrus hums his theme happily.

Sans knows this won't last, it fills him with sorrow, to think of his little brother, crying at night, not able to move, or risk harming himself, terrified of a noise, as simple as the wind, or a heater.

Sans sighs, knowing he only has a few days left of this happiness.

He's right, but not in the way he thinks.
