Chapter Three

HE WAS sure none of this would end well. Honestly, if Peter could see the future he was 93% sure it was all on fire. Still, he had to learn to handle the heat, he may have turned down joining The Avengers but Mr. Stark was still watching...always watching. This means there's probably a good chance he already knows what's going on...which gives Peter a bit of an excuse if he decided to withhold this certain development from Mr. Stark.
Delaina was now lying on the couch sleeping...well Peter certainly hopes she's sleeping. He remembers the way he changed clear as day and it hurt. Bad. Still, he managed to hide his pain from Aunt May so she wouldn't end up taking him to the hospital, he knows they couldn't afford it. Delaina, however, probably didn't have any reason to not go to the hospital, which means the most responsible thing to do would be to take her there.
But what if she turns out like me?
The question was at the forefront of his mind and the most logical thing to do would be to talk to Mr. Stark, or Happy at least. Nahhh.
Maybe he'll ask her when she wakes up, for now he should probably move her somewhere other than the apartments ratty couch. Of all the places in the apartment to sleep, the couch was the worst. Even the floor topped the couch! Aunt May's room is clean so he could probably move her in there, plus he would much like to avoid the cliche that was a teenage girl waking up in some guys bed.
Taking a deep breath Peter prayed this wouldn't end awkwardly and gently hooked his arms under Delaina's sleeping form. Slowly he lifted her off the couch still praying she was still asleep. He made it three steps before he failed at not being awkward.
"Parker, what are you doing?" Peters eyes widened the size of saucers and he was amazed at himself for not dropping her on the hard wooden floor.
"Uh, um I-I never sleep on the couch because I-it's really uncomfortable, so I figured that uh you might be uncomfortable too, so I just made like a decision y'know, like an executive decision to uh move you to Aunt May's room where you'd be infinitely more comfortable because y'know the spider bite sucks and-"
"Well first of all I was asking how the dorkiest boy in class can lift and carry me for more than thirty seconds when I've watched him struggle to hold up his french horn for more than a few minutes at band practice." Delaina interrupted, her eyes were still closed and she looked pretty relaxed for someone who was bitten by a radioactive spider and suffering the effects.
"W-well you aren't heavy," Said Peter and he continued his journey to Aunt May's room setting her down gently. Delaina opened one eye as she was placed on the bed and peered up at him.
