Zeus brought us to the secret passageway to Hell. Though reluctant, I have to go in. As we step down the stairs, we are greeted by Ceberus, the three-headed dog guarding the gates of hell.
"Let me through," I commanded. He whimpered and backed off. He recognised me, since I lived there before. My mother treated him well and I played with him at the gates of hell during my time here.
"Ceberus, who told you to back off," a voice came behind him. It's her again. I expected to see her scowl, but I'm greeted with her smile?
"Hi I'm Engel, welcome to Hell."
"I certainly don't feel welcome," I retorted. She stared at me.
"I may be friendly, but I ain't a pushover," she continued staring at me, daring me to go on.
"Oh yeah? You don't belong here, so don't act like you're any better just because Hades favours you. If you don't want your dear pet turning against you, I suggest you get out of my way. Right, Cece?" I patted one of Ceberus' heads and he jumped excitedly, turning to face Engel and growl at her. He was still most familiar with me and shared my dislike for her now. The look on her face was priceless. Tears started rolling down her cheeks.
"How could you? She was just trying to be friendly! Did anyone teach you manners at all? Who knew your mother would raise a daughter like you, a disgrace to your family." Zephir finally cut in.
"No one insults my mother." My eyes flashed white, with one strike of my sword, I sent the two of them flying. They landed near the edge of River Styx. Engel cried harder. I'm still not done with her.
Let the fight begin.
She pulled out her blades and began to strike. Before I could dodge, a blade stabbed my left arm and it started to bleed. I do not feel pain but rather anger. Zephir was standing at the side watching us fight. I do not admit defeat so easily. What does she have? Bring it on.
She neared me, taking cautious steps. What she did not know was that my sword is powerbonded to me, meaning I can control it with my thoughts without lifting a finger. I do not kill but injure, for pain is the seed of fear. My sword fell to the ground, suddenly as I am losing too much blood. Blood is oozing out of my arm and the wound is bright red. Time for a surprise. I send my sword flying, towards Engel's leg, and she kneeled down almost instantly, wincing and gasping in pain.
Zephir immediately rushed to her, if not, fly. I felt a pang of unfairness. I was also injured. I couldn't care less, just standing there, watching him help Engel up.
Meanwhile in Mount Olympian
"She is injured. At this rate, she will pass out," Athena worried.
"Let nature take its flow. We shall not interfere in their quest," Zeus said, suprisingly calm.
Back in Hell
I could not stand it anymore. I lost too much blood. The scene around me is twirling, whirling, spinning. I was blinded by Zephir's light, healing Engel. No, I can't stand it anymore.
The world around me went black.
An hour later
"Is she okay?" I heard a familiar voice. No. It can't be.
Yes it is. It is Hades. His words were followed by Persephone, the only one that cared about me.
"Skye, are you okay? Next time tell me before you visit Hell. Engel has gone too harsh on you. Look, you've gone all pale. No, I'd better ask Vane to escort you back." Her caring voice echoed. Suddenly I could not feel the presence of my sword.
"Yes I'm fine, thanks for the concern. We still have to continue with the quest unfortunately. Where is my sword?"
"Oh, Zephir had sent Vane to clean it for you. He has gone rather weak too, considering that he had used half of his energy to heal Engel."
"Where is he now?"
"He is at the River Styx, dipping your sword in it to make it stronger. You ought to thank him." Persephone said with a smile.
Thank him? I should thank him for saving me. Not.
