"Why does everyone love me, but hate you, Dark?" asked Light. "Are we not the same? Are we not equal?"

"Not everyone sees that, Light," replied Dark. "As we are the same. We are equal."

"Then why?" Light quipped. "Why do they love me, but not you, if we are but the same?"

"You see," Dark answered, "Most do not realize there's no difference in you and me."

"How so?" Light inquired.

"Ignorance," Dark sighed.

"Of what?" Light sneered. "Of us?"

"Of you," Dark thundered, "And of me."

"That makes no sense," Light hissed, "We are the same. I cannot be without you, and you cannot be without me."

"That is true," Dark jeered, "But they do not see that. They see me as evil and death, and you as good and life."

"How odd, Dark," Light huffed, "Whatever for?"

"Because, Light," Dark cooed, "In their eyes, you are a beautiful lie. And I, a painful truth."

"How dare you say such things!" Light raged. "We are equals, not enemies! Lovers, not fighters!"

"I do dare to say," Dark purred. "Your words are true. What's important is that we remember that."

"I could never forget, Dark," Light mused.

"I would hope, Light," Dark whispered. "I would hope."
