1 day before the masquerade
[Adrien's POV]
I yawned and slowly sat up the bed. Sighing at the dream of a certain girl with a...
Raven hair.
Did I just dreamt of Marinette Dupain-Cheng?
I shook my head and wiped my face with my hands. Confused on why would I even dream of her. I sighed before taking a glance on my alarm clock.
8:59AM
"WHAT THE
[Marinette's POV]
"Girl, everyone is talking about the gowns you designed, the results are stunning!" Alya exclaims, shaking me with her hands on my shoulders. "You should see them. Especially Miss Chloe's gown, oh my GOSH!"
I chuckled while shaking my head. "I'm pretty sure that it's the dressmakers are the ones who made it pretty, I don't think my designs are that good."
Alya sighs in annoyance. "Seriously. You need to stop doubting yourself or I swear I'll tell Sir Adrien that you were the one who broke the photocopy machine two months ago."
My eyes widened and I immediately covered her mouth with my hand. "Alya! Shh! You promised that it would be our secret!" I whispered.
"What was that? You were the one who broke the photocopy machine two months ago?" His voice said behind us, making me yelp and jump in surprise.
"N-no, -that's, um-I--"
"That's fine. It was fixed anyway." He said, and surprisingly he just smiled at me brightly, suddenly lightening up the whole office. His green eyes twinkled, it was something that I haven't seen before. Though I'm not quite sure of what has happened that suddenly changed him, his smile. That smile. Although I've seen Felix's smile before...Sir Adrien's smile is just...different. "Marinette, are you okay?" Somehow I heard a scratching record when he suddenly asked, waving a hand on my face. I embarassingly blushed, I can't believe I just stared at my boss.
"I---um, I'm okay." I replied, clearing my throat, looking anywhere but him.
He smiled again, making me want to faint before leaving the two of us and enetered into his own office. "What...was...that...about?" Alya asked, her face mixed with shock and confusion.
I blinked, unable to answer. Before looking back at my desk again where the roses from an unknown person lies. Suddenly, my heart was beating fast that I have to clutch on my chest. "What has Sir Adrien done to me?" I whispered to no one in particular.
"One more thing." Alya speaks and I blinked at her again. "Is it just me or Sir Adrien late today?"
I looked at Alya confusingly, before looking at my boss' closed door. Sir Adrien was never late. I thought. Why is he late now?
"Whoa!" Someone exclaims behind me, making me yelp and jump, this time, I slipped and fell to the ground. "Oh my, I'm so sorry!" Felix laughs before extending out a hand for me to take. I frowned at him, before accepting his hand as he helped me get up. "I was just surprised when I saw the roses on your desk. Who gave it to you?" He asked, completely oblivious.
