Can't complain: Camp Half-Blood looked amazing.

While walking with Annabeth through it, I could see dozens of kids and tweens fighting, gossiping, and even resting. It was a sunny day, so many people were just tanning on the beach or swimming in the sea.

A couple of campers, probably head-councelours, were sitting in the dining pavilion alongside a half-horse half-guy person, discussing fight strategies.

The big house was crowded with people who were playing games, reading or simply drinking a cup of tea with their friends.

The last part, my favorite one, was the residential part: 20 cabins, all differing from each other. Most of the people were sitting in the middle of them, a huge grass-covered surface, and laughing, singing, dancing...having fun!

'This is your cabin until we'll find out who your godly parent is' Annabett said when we stoped in front of a brown, old-looking house. 'Welcome to cabin 11, the house for children of Hermes and newcomers to Camp Half-Blood who are unclaimed. Have fun! Oh yeah, and, also...watch your pockets. You'll find out what I mean'

She took a look at her watch ( again!) 'Crap. I need to go. See you at the camp fire, ok?'

'Sure!' but I was sure she didn't hear me. She started running so fast, I wondered if Athena was also the atheltics-god.

I took a deep breath. I opened the door.

The first thing I noticed was the mess. This was one of the messiest rooms I had ever seen. Shoes, chlotes, empty boxes, empty bottles, pens and even pillows were lying on the floor. It the corner I saw a small table full of chocolate wraps and junkfood packages.

'Welcome to cabin 11' I heard for the second time today. I turned my head. The person speaking was a blue-eyed, curly-haired guy.

'Hi! I'm Carter. You're the new girl, right?'

'I'm Brooklyn. Brooklyn Kahn.' I blushed.

He smiled.

'This is your bed' he said, pointing at a bottom bunk bed. It was the only clean thing in the whole room.

'You should rest. I bet traveling was pretty exhausting. The camp fire starts at 7 o'clock'

'Thanks!'

I could hear someone screaming "CAAARRTTTERRR!!!"

'Whoops. Duty is calling' he gave me another smile. Had I blushed again?

I found 5 orange t-shirts on my bed, the ones everyone was wearing.

I took a shower, changed my chlotes and decided to take a nap. I was really exhausted, just like Carter had said.

'Wake up, sleepyhead! It's almost 7 o'clock. We need to go to the camp fire!'

I looked around. The cabin was full of people now. A curly haired, dark-skinned and extremely happy and energetic girl was sitting right in front of me.

'You're Brooklyn, right? The new girl. Carter and Annabeth told us you're here.'

'Right' I nodded.

'I'm Ciara. Welcome to Camp Half-Blood! So...is your godly parent Hermes or don't you know yet?'

She was talking so fast I could barely understand what she was saying.

'Hurry up!!! Annabeth will get really mad if I'll be late one more time!'

I got out of the bed, tied my hair in a high ponytail and headed for the door.

'Wait for me!' Ciara said, trying to arrange her fluffy hair.

After two broken hair-ties and seven failed messy bun attepts, we left the room, heading for the campfire. I had the feeling we were going to become best friends in no time.
