I took a deep breath before I walked down the front yard and past the house towards the back door. Anne had given me the information about where the spare key was hidden the last time I saw her, so that I didn't have to ring the doorbell if maybe Ed was already brought to bed sometimes. When I arrived in the kitchen, Anne was already pacing around swiftly, cleaning up what I guessed were the dinner items. In the background, there was some sort of piano playing on the radio in the living room. I cleared my throat to make myself noticeable.
"Oh, Aliyah dear. Good that you're here already. I'm quite late for work. I just clean this up and pack my things and then I'll hurry off. Ed is upstairs in his bedroom, already in Pyjamas I guess. It would be nice if you'd bring him to bed since it's quite late already."
"It's okay, I can finish this off as well. You go to work, it's no problem." I offered helpfully because I saw in what a rush she was in. Anne smiled surprised and took her bag. "You would? Thank you so much, darling. I think I'm home at about 11. Don't hesitate to-"
"..call you when needed. Yes I know, don't worry." I laughed and nodded assuring. She laughed along, waved one last time and walked off out of the house swiftly. I couldn't even ask if Harry was present in this house too, just to prepare myself beforehand, of course.
Anyways, I just started to clean the dishes. Then I went upstairs to Ed, greeted him and granted him a little playing session in which I had to pretend that I was his dog. (Luckily it didn't seem as if Harry was home today because that would've been quite a picture with me, crawling on my knees and hands, barking and trotting around Ed who tugged carefully at my hair which he used as a leash.) After a few minutes I re-morphed into human again and took Ed to bed. I stayed until his breaths got longer and heavier, then I quitted the room and closed the door silently.
Now what to do with my free time? I let out a long breath and made my way downstairs again. The closer I got, the louder the piano tune I already heard earlier this evening got. Anne must've forgotten to turn the radio off. But as I went to the living room, I realized that there was no radio at all and that the tune came from somewhere else. It was quite a muffled sound and my curiosity got the best of me. So I followed the melody out of the room and down the hallway until I was led to a little door under the stairs. The Harry-Potter-fanatic part of me nearly lost it when I made this discovery. The door was slightly opened and when I put my ear next to the gap I heard that the tune came unmistakable out of it. So I pulled it more open but to my surprise, there wasn't just a little room under the stairs but another little stair that led downstairs into some sort of basement.
I hesitated shortly. Why would they have a radio down there, and especially why would they turn it on when nobody even was in there? My curiosity won over the possibility that it might be a trap of a crazy axe murderer who wanted to get me into his hands. So I slowly started to walk down while the tune got louder and louder. I knew this melody. I think it was in some sort of commercial or such. As I arrived at the last step, my first glimpse went to the tired glowing light bulb in the center of the little room. As my eyes slowly accustomed to the poorly lit room my eyes looked for the cause of the music. I jumped and almost let out a little surprised scream. Because- as you less naïve people out there might've already guessed- it wasn't a radio nor a grim looking man with an axe that was playing the lovely tune. No, there in the back of the room stood a big black piano. And in front of it, seemingly forgetting everything around him sat no other than Harry, the sassy, rude, hardcore senior himself. I had to blink a few times before I could believe the scene in front of me. He seemed to give his soul into that instrument he was playing so enthusiastically. I tell you what, nobody would ever believe me when I would tell him this.
