Y/N stood looking at herself in the mirror beside her apartment door. She fussed with flattening out the skirt of her dress and twisting the backs of her earrings. She played with her necklace and reapplied her lipstick four times before there was even a knock at the door. When the knock finally came she brushed at her skirt one last time before picking up her clutch and opening the door to find Jordan Parrish standing there in a suit, fiddling with his tie.

"So you do have something other than a uniform in your closet." Y/N stated, smiling at the man before her.

Jordan looked up quickly, as if surprised that she had come out so quickly. "Well I do leave the station once in awhile. Though I will admit the last time I wore a suit was before I went in the army, so this is new."

"Well you look dashing."

"Thanks, you look stunning."

"Thank you." The two stood in silence outside her apartment door for a long moment just looking and smiling at one another. "Do you wanna get going or are you planning on just standing outside my door all night?"

As if shaken from a trance Parrish nodded and held his arm out to the woman beside him. "Let's go." Together the two made their way out to Jordan's car and off towards their destination.

"So where are we going that I had to dress up so nicely?" Y/N asked, fiddling with the skirt of her dress.

"A club." Parrish stated.

"A club?" She questioned with wide eyes.

"Not that kind of club. We're going to a place called the Turquoise Tiger, it's a jazz club. There's good food and good drinks, good music and dancing. It's supposed to be really cool." He assured her as they pulled into the parking lot.

"I think I've heard about it, didn't a group from the station go a few weeks ago?"

"Yeah, I didn't but the people who did wouldn't stop talking about it for days." The two got out of the vehicle and made their way inside the small and plain looking building.

"What made you think that was a good spot for a first date? It's really beautiful." Y/N asked as she admired the room around her. There were white couches and booths and chairs all around the room, dark colored tables for four or two sat scattered about. There was a calming blue light surrounding them and crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling. It was certainly the nicest 'club' she had ever been to.

"I don't know, I guess I just thought it was something different. Probably something you've never done on a first date before. Wait have you been dancing on a first date before?" He asked as the two sat themselves at a table for two off to the side of the room.

Y/N shook her head. "No I haven't, you will be the first. Not that I've been on many first dates to begin with. Have you ever taken anyone else dancing on a first date?"

"No I haven't, you will be the first. Not that I've been on many first dates to begin with." Parrish mimicked the answer she had just given.

"Really? I find that highly improbable."

"Well I went on a few in high school, if you count your mom driving you to the movies as a date, and after high school I went right into the army. After I was discharged from the army I got into law enforcement and moved to Beacon Hills. A law enforcement job in a place like this doesn't leave much time for dating." He explained.

"I can understand that. It's lucky Dad met my mom before becoming a deputy or I may have never existed." She exaggerated.

"What a tragedy that would have been."

"You would still be dateless, can you imagine? How did you even manage to get time off for this date?" She said, a hint of sarcasm in her voice.

"Well it helps when my date has a personal relationship with my boss." The deputy said with a smile.

"That's always helpful."

"So do you want to order something before I get a call?"

"You're on call tonight?" She asked shock.

"I'm a deputy in Beacon Hills. I'm on call every night. There are some things your dad just can't change." Jordan chuckled looking across the table at Y/N who had a smile plastered across her face.

The two spent the rest of the night eating and drinking, dancing and laughing, until their feet and their stomachs ached. It was the best first date either of them had ever had and they definitely planned to find themselves together again at The Turquoise Tiger.
