PLANS /
OH WONDER
Sunlight pours through the openings of the blinds when Suhwa wakes up on a Monday morning. She yawns and stretches her arms out, glances at the digital clock on her bedside table that reads 10:48 A.M. in big block letters. The perks of being the boss of everyone at work is that you have the privilege of yelling at anyone who comes in late, but gets to come in the latest you'd like. For someone like Suhwa, she uses this advantage to a maximum. She sits up on the bed and rubs at her eyes, glancing to the side and finds the space next to her empty which doesn't surprise her at all.
The silence that basks the house is not the kind that brings anyone serenity and peace, rather a lonely atmosphere and hopes of what everything should've been like hanging in the air. But Suhwa is used to this. She's used to waking up with empty space on the other side of the bed, showering in cold because Yoongi had used up all the hot water before her, and having breakfast with on the dining table alone. It's almost a routine, one that she would make her feel uncomfortable if it were to suddenly change. Not saying that she'd rather wake up being peppered by kisses from her husband, but if that were to happen, she'd be more confused than delighted.
If there's one thing she hates more than not having the right amount of sugar in her coffee, it's having an empty tank of gas. Suhwa has never wanted to shoot something so bad the second after she turns the ignition of her car only to hear a rumble of disappointment before the vehicle died. Tries a couple more times only to have the same result.
And that's really how the girl ends up on the next bus to her office's district, scowling because she despises taking public transportation to get to work. Something about not liking her personal space being invaded, and how it's currently the hour where everyone is trying to get to their day's agendas makes the bus more cramped than Suhwa would've liked.
So of course, it would make sense how the brunette would be the first one by the door even when the vehicle hasn't come to a stop yet. Clutching her briefcase tight, Suhwa walks to her office building, her heels clicking against the pavement with every long stride she takes. The receptionist greets her a good morning as she steps into the building. Suhwa makes her way to the elevator, listens to the same tune that's played every morning as she goes up to her floor.
Suhwa is delighted to find that the headquarters is as busy as ever even if it's still quite early in the day. Instead of going into her office, she makes her way to the desk where Taehyung is sitting at, eyes focused on the computer in front of him. He's wearing a red long-sleeve button-up with three of its top buttons open, revealing a glimpse of his tan skin and sharp collarbones. He looks up from the screen when she approaches his desk, giving her a smile that reaches his eyes.
"Taehyung, are you busy at the moment?" Suhwa asks, silently approving of his sense of style. Good to know that she doesn't need to worry about his choice of fashion.
"I'm just doing some final touch-ups to yesterday's photo shoot. Why?"
"Would you mind stepping into my office for a short interview, just for a little bit? I let Namjoon hire you without going through me first, and it's not that I don't trust him or you, but everyone here has gone through something like it before officially becoming a part of the magazine. It's kind of like protocol," and with a playful smile she adds, "don't worry, I don't bite."
"Sure," he says and gets up to follow her to her office.
Suhwa's space is secluded and by far the coziest room in the whole floor. She had decorations herself, making the room feel like somewhere she'd want to spend a whole night in, because someone like her is definitely going to have a lot of those. The mini fridge and flatscreen TV were her personal additions alongside the velvet L-shaped sofa. She could live here, if that's the case. On the right of her desk is a window that takes up all of the wall, and the office being so high up gives her a perfect view of the streets below. Sometimes when she feels like stepping out of her responsibilities, the girl would drag a chair and just sit and watch the view in front of her, the pedestrians and cars that look like tiny ants, the buildings, and the starless sky she has become so familiar with.
