Chapter Five

Toby's P.O.V

I sat in my room, after Alex left, thinking of nothing but her.

Thinking of her.

I had liked her ever since I met her. I knew everything about her, even the things she didn't tell me.

But this was new.

After a while, I left my room, in search of the Doctor. Mainly because I needed answers. Also because I wanted to know if she was okay.

When I walked in, he was sitting, and was looking down at the floor. I sat down too, and he looked up. I got straight to the point.

"Is she okay?"

"Pardon?"

"Is there anything wrong with Alex?"

"No."

"What is she then?"

He sighs "She is this machine, which means she might be able to hear us, so don't say anything she doesn't need to hear."

"She sings in the shower, and you would need to concentrate to listen in."

"Hm. Why did you want to know if she was okay?"

I hesitate. Do I really want to share this with someone I barley know?

"I... care about her..."

He looks unfazed. "Well, I do t-

Wait." A grin spreads across his face. "You mean..."

"Yeah, and if you value your life, you better shut up about it."

"Okay, okay!" He's now red with joy. Oh great.

The door to the corridor suddenly swing open, and we're both shocked when Alex walks in with nothing on but a small towel.

"Surprise!" she says as she does jazz hands. All of a sudden I feel my face get hot and look down at the floor.

God, please don't let her notice.

"OI DOCTOR! There aren't any clothes in the wardrobe."

At first, I think he is going to tell her. "That's your fault, you were supposed to put everything in!"

"Well, it'll take about twenty minutes for me to create clothing out of thin air, so..."

She then plops herself right in between the two of us. We are smushed together, and for some reason, that makes me go even more red.
