A/N:

Nothing about this chapter went how I originally planned. Things got crazy and WILD toward the end here too. Like, holy shit, what the fuck has happened?! All this shit was not mean to be revealed yet! Especially not as much as was...Damn it all, I am so ticked off right now!

Okay, well, my irritation aside (in part by how tired I am right now), let's move right along here.

More Bren and Sera interactions! You guys get to see a different, weird, interesting aspect of their relationship in this chapter. Yay.

By the way, A Sky So Blue is an actual story of mine, for any curious. I figured I'd just give it to Sera for funsies since it's an old one that's just sitting on my computer here...Hahaha.

Please be warned though that after the first half, shit hits the fan FAST! I was writing it at this frantic, freaked out pace so if the words get all weird, I'm sorry. It was so crazy I was panicking as much as Bren. Like, no joke, my heart was pounding in my chest and I was nearly hyperventilating.

I don't think words can describe the terror, horror, and madness that a particular character that you find out about in this Key can bring out. It's the type that seeps into your entire being and takes over everything else. Your conscious thoughts, your own reason, your own beliefs. None of it matters in the face of the CRUELTY AND PASSIONATE VIOLENCE it begs of you...

Oh, how sweetly it begs...

Standing outside the door, Bren closed his eyes tightly. Breathing in deeply for a moment, he reached up and rapped his knuckles against the wood. It was an old ritual, one he'd long since grown use to. He was both accepting and unwilling, as with all things involving Sera. Constantly, never-endingly, he was split in two over her.

A few seconds later, her high, energetic voice floated through the door. He held back a groan of happiness, coming out more as a whimper of pain, at the sound of her voice. Game face, Bren, he reminded himself fiercely. Time to put on the mantle of Best Friend and Servant. "Is that you, Bren? If it is, you can come in."

Pulling up a quirky little smile, he twisted the door knob and pushed it forward, stepping inside. There Sera was, laid out on her stomach onto of the bed, legs up in the air and crossed behind her. She glanced up, smiling warmly, before rolling off her bed and to her feet. "Bren! Great! I was hoping that was you. Okay, okay!" she held her hands up in a stopping motion. "So, I need your help. You ready for this?"

Crossing his arms over his chest, he put on an air of pretend annoyance, a look of long-suffering resignation on his face. "What's it going to be this time?"

She beamed happily and he felt his heart stutter before beginning again in double time. The part of him that loved her desperately wanted to just stare at her in love-sick happiness. The part of him that resented her wanted to roll his eyes and growl in irritation.

Does she always have to be so fucking perfect?! he demanded of the world, of his blood that made him love her.

Of course! his accursed blood seemed to scream back at him. The part of him that loved her shook his head. How can she be anything but perfection?
