A/N- yes I keep getting comments about the fact that I mention technology eventhough the Marauders era is way before Wattpad etc. this is a piece of fiction I wrote when I was 14/15 so please bear that in mind and stop with the hating, because I'm close to just unpublishing the book anyways :)

Your POV

You were sat in your hidden corner of the library, as per usual, a stack of books on the table in front of you and scribbling away with your quill on the parchment which rolled to the other side of the willow table due to how much you had already written for your herbology essay.

Even though you had wrote so much you despised herbology.

It really was the most useless subject to learn, and most of your class thought that too, bar Henry Arbuckle (A/N Complete made-up name, sorry to any Henry Arbuckles out there, love yas XD) who thought learning about mandrakes was undoubtedly the most fascinating topic ever.

At least you were lucky you had Remus as your partner.

He was much more interested in Herbology than you were, which made it even better to do projects with him because he actually paid attention in the lesson.

Although he had James and Sirius deliver a message to you moments before you left to venture into the outside world to reach your secluded spot.

They said Remus couldn't come to help with the essay as he had fallen ill last night and was rushed down to the hospital wing.

You said you'd go down and visit but they quickly put you off the idea as he had mentioned to not let you come down just in case you caught anything.

However the more you thought about it, the more the idea of going down and sitting with Remus appealed to you. So you packed up your quill and parchment into your bag and left the books in the pile; as you were planning to come back and reread Hogwarts: A History for the third time this week. There were no interesting books to delve into in the library where you could put yourself into somebody else's shoes, so you'd always have to ask Lily to borrow one of her muggle books. Or, you'd have to wait until you'd go home in the holidays, and go on your laptop, sign into Wattpad and read fanfiction on books like Percy Jackson or Doctor Who.

You got up, bag in hand, pushed your chair in and left on an adventure to the hospital wing.

▪Time skip with James and Sirius singing into a hairbrush jumping on a bed▪

You pushed the grand oak doors open of the hospital wing and was faced with rows of empty beds bar one.

The one bed next to the window, had a curtain drawn round it, and you could see a silhouette of a person with shaggy hair sitting up, book in hand, back hunched as if it would make the words appear clearer on the page.

You approached the bed and whispered,
"Remus?"

There was no reply so you assumed he hadn't heard you, and you slowly pulled back the curtain, uttering his name once more.

That's when you saw him.

Open cuts dashed across his face, as if a painter had struck him again and again, but the paintbrush was a knife.

His neck snapped towards you and he shut his book closed so quickly.

You dropped your bag from your hand as your stared at his face.

Tears welled in your eyes.

You opened your mouth to speak but nothing came out.

Remus was frozen, statue-like, his eyes glued open, not blinking, book clasped in his hands still.
