Lyrisa and I had been quiet for a while, only talking when the silence grew too much. We had read the paper article and that just made us feel lower. The paper said something about witnesses that haven't been identified as of yet. I hope they don't figure out it was me and Lyrisa. I don't want to talk about what I saw and I don't think she does either.
A little flustered, Lyrisa decided to take a nap and I decided to go for a walk outside. I was in need of fresh air otherwise I felt I would go crazy.
As I walk, I distracted myself with the sweet sound of music. The white headphones dangling from my ears and I slowly make my way down the street. Although I got too comfortable and decided to walk with my eyes closed to zone me out even more. Because of this, I accidentally bump into someone, the pair of us exhaling a gasp of air on impact of each other's chests. I remove my headphones and open my eyes to see a new but familiar face in front of me.
"Oh geez, I'm sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going!"
I apologise to the brown haired boy as he twitches in front of me. I try my best not to let it bother me. When you see a killer who has tics, who was also male. You get paranoid.
"O-Oh, that's oka-ay! I w-w-wasn't either."
He replies. The poor soul. Suffering with tics and a stutter. Must be hard..
"Oh. Okay! Hey, you were my paper boy this morning weren't you?"
"Oh! Yes I *tic* I was. Your old p-pa- *tic* paper boy quit."
It took me some time to try and understand why my original paper boy would want to quit. He seemed fine the day before. It just seemed weird. I hoped that the killer hadn't gotten to him too.
"Oh. That's odd. Thank you for telling me -uh. I didn't catch your name?"
I smile as I wait for his reply. There was a slight pause as if he had to remember what to say. Surely everyone knows their own name. But then again, he couldn't have been thinking as I would have heard it.
"T-Tomo. My name is Tomo."
I was shocked a little. That was not the name I was expecting at all. For a start, the name is Japanese. And this Tomo is definitely English.
"Oh, it's Nice to meet you Tomo. I'm [Name]. [Name/LastName].
What's your last name?"
Again there was a pause, but when he spoke his last name. It made more sense than his first name.
"Rogers. M-My last name I-Is Rogers."
"Tomo Rogers huh? Well its nice to meet you."
"Yes, ni- *tic* nice to meet you too. A-Are you busy? I was g-going to ask if *tic* if you wanted to hang out?"
"That would be nice but maybe for another day. I left my friend at home alone and I'm worried about her. But, I can give you my number so we can arrange plans for later?"
I thought It was odd for him to want to hang together so suddenly but he seemed like a nice enough guy and his tics or stutters are easier to get used to that I thought they would be.
"Y-Yes no problem. H-Here, let me get my pho-phone."
"Okay. Ready?"
He nods and prepares his fingers to type in my number. I take a deep breath and start to give out my details.
"It's [Your/Mobile/Number]".
He nods slightly to what I say before locking his phone and putting it away.
"Th-Thank you. I shall t-text you later!"
With that, we say out goodbyes and head in opposite directions. I decide to walk home to check on Lyrisa.
