"Tomo I swear to you. A man - a thing with a cut smile killed a man inside my house! There was blood everywhere!"
I try to defend my case as I walk down the street with Tomo. He didn't believe me which is understandable as there was nothing there when we came down to see him.
"[Name], t-there was n-n-nothing there."
He once again tries to tell me what he believes is true. But it's not. I know what I saw.
"Tomo I swear that we saw-"
I stop myself once I look over to Tomo. He was watching me as I spoke with a gentleman's manner and he head this look in his eye that seemed to captivate me but also try to convince me I was wrong. Like mixed emotions between 'I want to believe you but I dont' kinda thing.
"-Nevermind.. Let's just go the the café you picked out Tomo."
He nods and we pick up the pace, making our way down the street, around corners here and there until we finally arrive. The smell of cooking food and beverages filling my nostrils.
We head to the entrance and make our way inside. The aroma was so appealing, I couldn't help take a deep inhalation through my nose. By which Tomo sniggered.
"Don't laugh! It smells great, I couldn't help it!"
I giggle, nudging his arm with my elbow. We pick a seat by the window and read through the menu. As we sat, I every now and then watched Tomo reading through. For some reason, something in me wanted to tell him about me being able to read minds. But then again, this is our first meet up. So maybe not yet.
"Ugh look at her dress."
"What's he doing here?"
"I wish that kid would stop fucking crying already!"
"Oh my god! My crush just walked in the door, what do I do!? Act normal act normal!"All I could hear were the voices of everyone talking in their heads. It was so much it was hard to concentrate. It started to become unbearable that I had to cover my ears with my hands and squint my eyes shut right, trying to block out the sound.
"Get out my head, stop it.."
I mumble quietly, but loud enough for Tomo to look up at me.
"Get out my head, Get out my head! Stop it! STOP IT! STOP TALKING! SHUT UP STOP TALKING STOP IT!"
I yell in my seat, causing the entire café to grow silent. Everyone turned to stare at me, making me feel completely awkward and embarrassed.
"S-Sorry everyone! Go b-back to your me-meals!"
Tomo announces. Causing everyone to look away and continue with what they were doing.
"W-What was *tic* that about?"
He asks me with a rather confused and concerned tone. I felt so embarrassed. I had completely humiliated myself and possibly Tomo too just for being with me here. Lowering my hands and opening my eyes, I lower my head in shame a little.
"Sorry.. I just.. Got carried away I guess."
"C-Carried away w-w-with what?"
"Um.. with-"
I was interrupted by the waitress coming over with her notepad and pen. I was thankful she did, otherwise I would have probably told Tomo about my mind reading skill.
"Hello there! May I take your orders my lovelies!"
She smiles politely, along with a nice phrasing of the question. I hadn't met such a nice waitress as they all usually look dead like they want to go home and get drunk on alcohol, wasting their lives away. But not her, she was different. I could tell she wanted to go places with her life.
"Oh, yes I'll have the [Favourite/Soup] please! Along with a glass of [Favourite/Drink]."
I order and watch as she writes down my order.
"Okay! And what can I get for you?"
She turns to Tomo with a smile. Why was she so polite? I didn't quite understand it. She's too polite for her own good.
"C-Can I have t-the waffles with p-plenty of syrup p-please."
I thought it was a rather strange thing to order around this time, but if it's what he wants then fair enough.
"Of course. I'll get that for you!"Not long after we ordered, the same waitress came over with our food. She placed the soup and drink gently down in front of me.
"Here you are madam."
She smiles before retiring to the kitchen, bringing out Tomos waffles.
"Here you are handsome."
She places down his waffles with an extra toothy grin. I knew it. Of course that's the reason she was so nice.
"Seems like you have an admirer"
I giggle, bouncing my eyebrows towards him. He chuckles, rolling his eyes.
"No t-thanks. I've heard *tic* heard about her. S-She's been around with m-mo-most of the men here."
I was shocked. How and why did Tomo know that? Maybe it was just a local town thing that everyone knows?
