Signe and Jack tore the plastic off the casket-sized box.

Jack giggled and turned to the camera, "Who bets the robot is shorter than me?!" He turned back around with a smile to Signe and the box, pausing a second before opening the blue-high quality-cardboard flaps to let the livestream chat blow up with answers.

"Annnnnnnnnnddddd-! ...Woah." The robot was completely human-looking. Down to skin discolorations and individual follicles of hair. It was covered by a molded plate of clear hard plastic. Google obviously wanted to make a show out of opening their product, of which Jack and Signe were the first beta-testers.

"Looks extremely real, doesn't he?"

"...Yeah." Jack was stunned, looking at this... creation. It was hard to believe it was one with how life-like it looked.

Someone who could show their product off to 16 million subscribers was definitely a good marketing choice; the chat was going batshit crazy and pictures of 'GOOGLE'S NEW ROBOT!!!' were already getting posted everywhere. Good, free promotions for Google.

"I'm not sure I want to open this... it looks like a work of art!"

"Jack, 'cmon, apparently this thing can do a lot more than look pretty!" Signe replied. The Googlebot team had been in contact with them for a while, making them sign waivers for this and that, or telling them little things about the robot.

Jack took a hold of the tab, pulled the plastic off and let it fall to the ground beside him. The robot was holding a small, blue book; fitting, the box was blue, the robot's clothes were all blue, wonder what color its eyes were.

Signe took the book, opening to the first page, then flipping to the third one. "Okay, so... lift up its shirt and press the G on its chest, Jack."

Jack stepped closer to the robot, lifting up its shirt and pressing the large G button, a small click sounding through the silent room as Jack lifted his hand from the button. The robot's eyes opened, looking down at Jack with brown, almost black, eyes. They looked like dark screens...

"Staring a little long there buddy?" Signe laughed

Jack's eyes widened and he immediately took his hand out of this robot's shirt, taking a few steps back toward Signe. Even the camera could pick up the embarrassment on his face, but Signe was watching the robot.

Jack watched the robot slowly come to life, it stood tall and assessed its surroundings. The G button glowed through its shirt, it was hard not to look at it... It was a true spectacle.

"Okaaaay, so..." Signe glanced at the book again, pressing her finger on a spot before looking up again. "Okay google."

The automaton's head turned to face Signe and a smile appeared on its face. "Hello, I am Googlebot. Your new personal assistant. Use the Googlebot instruction manual to walk you through the setup of this system."

(Eh I'm going to publish this, I mean it's scrapped and I'll never finish it, but it's content I guess)
