Ariana squeezed her eyes shut as she fell. She could feel the air rush past her madly as her hair flew in all different directions.
Ariana slowly opened one eye and saw that she was going to hit the water. She prepared herself.
Ariana splashed into the familiar and cold water. She swam to the top and gasped for air.
The mad hatter bent over the side of the moat and yelled
"Come on Ariana! The queen and her guards are coming!"
Ariana swam as fast as she could to the other side of the moat. The mad hatter grabbed her by the arms and pulled her out of the water.
He let Ariana lay on the ground for some time to let her get back her energy before he pulled her up .
The 2 ran into the forest at top speed. They were running so fast that everything around them blurred.
They ran for an hour until they finally outran the queen of hearts and her guards.
" I'm so tired" said Ariana breathlessly
" it's still an hour long until we reach the workshop" said the mad hatter,sadly
Ariana stared at him. She was to tired to run back to the workshop.
"Why don't we set up a camp here?" She suggested "And in the morning we can go back to the workshop "
The mad hatter nodded and took a seat on the ground. He took out the small hat and took out his book of tea.
"So we finished the first riddle?" He asked
"I think so" replied Ariana
"Yay! That's one down and four to go! Shall we read the next riddle?" He questioned
Ariana nodded and took the book of tea from the mad hatter. This was the first time she had saw the cover of the book up close.
The cover was painted brown and it had a teacup drawn on it. And in the middle of it all were the words ' book of tea' written in big,white letters.
She opened the book and saw that it was full of different recipes for tea. She kept flipping the pages until she came to the last page where the wishing tea was.
She took a pen from the mad hatter and crossed off the first riddle.
Once she did that ,she began to read the second riddle which was:
What makes the smile precious
To a dear cat
That is so special
That we shall not forget
