Jace stared long and hard at the mirror in front of him to try to find any mistakes on his person, when he found nothing he went along with his morning routine which was after checking for mistakes on his person he would brush his teeth and then hair. Once he was done with both of the procedures he always did he grabbed his medicine from behind his mirror. He grabbed his cup beside his toothbrush and filled it up half way before putting the medicine in his hand and than mouth. He put the water in his mouth and swallowed as he gripped the sides of the sink ledges. He hated doing this daily and he wished he was normal like most kids his age but he hasn't been normal since he was seven.
Taking one last look in the mirror he sighed heavily as he walked back into his room to grab his backpack before heading downstairs where his mother, he knew, was cooking breakfast and making coffee. He gave her a kiss on the cheek which she smiled warmly at him for but he only gave a small one back before walking to the table and sitting on the chair. Turning his head he saw a child sitting beside him, her whole body was all black except her eyes and mouth which were white as paper. She turned to look at him before giving him a giant grin that showed her teeth before turning back to the table.
Biting his lip he closed his eyes and counted to twenty before reopening them and seeing the child gone, he sighed in relief before jumping when he hears a plate being set down in front of him. He looked up at him mom who looked at him and giving him another smile before walking back to the other food she has to make for her family.
Jace hated this routine and he told his parents this but they just told him that 'it's life hon, routines are always made' to which he shut down for the day, as he stared up at his ceiling that was plain white for many hours. He didn't get out of his trance till his mother finally shook him hard enough to which he blinked at her before telling his poor mother sorry. Jace loved his family he really did but sometimes he felt like they just saw him as a problem for all his mental issues that always seem to get in the way, but his mother and father always reassured him but he not once believed them.
He ate quietly, as tapped his leg with his free hand as he kept from listening to the voices in his head that always love to wake up just when he finally is some what in an okay head space.
"Eggs again? wow mother sure hates us" "Who doesn't like eggs?" "us" "Jace let me come out and tell mother what we really think please, we all hate having the same thing over and over-"
"Shut up!" Jace yelled out loud before covering his mouth with his hand and turning to his mother who had a shock look on her face before she gave him a smile.
"You okay honey?"
He could only nod because he didn't want to worry his mother. She got a look on her face which Jace knew all to well, 'I'm always here hon' look that he grew to hate for to him it felt like pity. He ate the last of his breakfast and as he got up and place it into the sink his older brother and sister came down stairs. They didn't say much only nodding at him in greeting before they both kissed their mother on both cheeks. Jace had a big family he obviously had his parents, his two older brother and sister who were twins, and than his younger brothers who were two years apart. He was the middle child to this some what big family, but he felt like an alien to himself and most likely his family too.
Quiet as his family is his younger brothers loved to make the noises of banshee's and Jace wasn't quite sure if he found them being stupid amusing or annoying. He found some of their antic's quite amusing for there were harmless pranks.
His two older siblings were just as quiet as himself and their parents, but they both loved to be some what manipulative. They both love to go arm and arm while smirking and freaking people out in their creepy twin talk. His family loved to play pranks on the innocent but their parents didn't mind as long as it didn't hurt anyone.
He grabbed his backpack and put both of the straps over his shoulders before waving goodbye. Mornings were quiet yes, but walking to school was anything but quiet.
"Jace my man, my bro, my homi-" His friend didn't get to finish his sentence for he had tripped over a crack on the sidewalk and fallen on the ground. He would have laugh if he didn't see the same shadowy child looking down at his friend with her grin. Jace closed his eyes tightly and clenched his hands into fists till they hurt before opening his eyes again, and unclenching his fist. The girl was gone thankfully and his friend was still whining.
He reached a hand out for his friend which his friend looked up and stopped whining before giving a fake gasp.
"you do care!" His friend exclaimed, to Jace's annoyance.
Jace pulled his hand back which caused his friend to fall forward for he reached out to grab his hand before Jace pulled it back. He turned back around and started walking again to his friends horror. As he got farther away he took a breathe, today was gonna be a long day.
