It was another boring, hot day, with absolutely nothing to do. Or so I had thought.

My mom had just announced that she and dad were getting a divorce. To most people it probably sounds like the end of the world. To me, it sounded like the beginning of a new happy life. You wonder why? Well....

(Flashback to when you were about 5)

"Quit whining!! Normal people can use this!!" Dad yelled. He decided that a little 5 year old me was capable of using extra strength mouth- wash. For ADULT MEN!! I couldn't help but whine and attempt to hold back tears as the mouthwash burned my throat and tongue. "*swallow* *cough cough*" "Did you just swallow it?!" He yelled once more. "Y-yeah but j-just a bit!" "GO LEAN ON YOUR BED!"And by that he meant to put my legs flat against the end of the bed, with my stomach on top of it. He would come in and slap the back of my thighs until they burned and I lost feeling in them. Half the time when he spanked me he started with about 10 and went to 25, not caring how much I cried. But he'd only do it when mommy wasn't around...

(Flashback ends)

Oddly enough he decided that he wanted the divorce. Yeah, of course I was sad. But it wasn't because I would miss him. It was because I never had a dad that would do nice things for me, or spend quality time with me. He was a total workaholic! He barely spent time with mommy! But I wasn't sad about him, in fact I was relieved that he was going away. He had gotten in a car accident and was left partially paralyzed. He was instructed to wear certain braces, and that left him incapable do most things. Incapable of making me do stupid things. Incapable of abusing me. Incapable of hurting me anymore. Well.... physically anyway. He still had the ability to talk. Unfortunately. He was also incapable of taking care of me, so I would stay with my mommy and I wouldn't have to visit him either. He left us the house too!! I'm glad because then we would've had to move, and I'd miss Mr. Stan. Or, as he allowed me to call him, Grunkle Stan. Grunkle Stan ran a shop just at the end of our street. I was a regular customer because he had so many cool knock-offs!  I couldn't keep my hands off of them. They were too cool not to.... steal... he obviously didn't notice because of what a great thief I had become. He had recently told me that his great niece and nephew were coming to live with him for the summer. I was actually really excited to meet them! Being the introverted introvert (I'm extremely introverted so yeah) that I am, things like that were extremely rare. They were moving in on Sunday and it was Saturday, so I couldn't really sleep that night. I was thrilled.

(Sunday)

*SCREECH SCREECH SCREEEEEEEECH!!!!!!!!* "*Yawn* Time.... timezit..? OHMYGOSHIT'SSUNDAYANDGRUNKLE-
STAN'SNIECEANDNEPHEWARECOMING!!! I can't wait!! I hope they're nice!" I said with a new tone of excitement in my voice. I put on my floral dress and white pumps. Then I grabbed my brush and ran to the bathroom. I brushed my hair, then I brushed my teeth, and after that I washed my face. I grabbed my eyeliner, eyeshadow and powder out of my cabinet and dusted my face with powder. Next came a golden coat of eyeshadow. Last but not least, eyeliner. I drew on some neat, short wings. Oh yeah, mascara. How could I forget?
I put a light coat of black mascara on my already long eyelashes. Then I washed my hands and headed downstairs.

Mommy was already awake. "(Y/n) your awake already?" She asked. "Yeah! I'm really excited to meet Grunkle Stan's great grandkids!" I chirped. "Well that's good. I was afraid that you would stay in your room watching YouTube and playing Roblox forever. Which I WOULD NOT let you do." She replied while serving me a plate of strawberries and bagels. "Aww" I groaned. "Well thank you for breakfast!" " Well I'm a mom, should I not feed you?" She laughed. "NOO FEED MEH I LOVE FOOD!! Haha! Well I'm gonna go to The Shack!" "Okay. Be careful for cars. And white vans. And animals. And poisonous pl-" I cut her off with "OK OK I GET IT!!!! Love you." And with that I walked down the street.

It wasn't windy, but breezy. And the breeze was nice and cool. No cars drove past, which was normal for living in like, the most rural town ever. I started to pick up my pace because I thought that I was gonna miss them getting here.

As soon as I got there I pulled out my phone and looked at myself in the reflection. I think people associate you most with what you look like when you first meet them. That's probably why they say first impressions are super important.

As soon as I stepped through the door I bent over and held my stomach, trying not to puke. "Hey, hey!! (Y/n) what's wrong? Swallow a fly or somethin'?" Stan asked "Stan, why would you ever sell... POWDERED CHICKEN?!?!" I scream pointing across the room at the disgusting packet. I stood up normally and just restrained myself from gagging as I walked over to the counter. "Oh come on!! Why not?! It's convenient!" He retorted. "Conveniently disgusting. People are gonna run and scream if they see that." I spit back. "Well what do you know about selling stuff?" He says. "I dunno but I do know that people are gonna hate it. Seriously, they will. A lot." And right as he was about to say something, the creaky door flew open, and just like that, two kids identical to each other appeared in the doorway, looking quite amazed.

Thank you so much for reading this and I hope you enjoyed! Sorry if my punctuation is incorrect. I'm still young and learning so don't judge meh. I will probably post part 2 in a day or so, so enjoy this until then!
