Cautiously, I stood to my feet and studied my surroundings. I looked across the street, but there was nothing there. I glanced down the shadow engulfed sidewalk, but there was nothing to be seen.
The glow from my hand flashed even brighter. I felt as if I was being watched. I couldn't see anyone, but I could sense them there...feel them.
Tony's voice ripped me out of my paranoia.
"You gonna sit out there and freeze or do you plan on getting in the car?"
"Sorry, I didn't hear you pull up", I said apologetically. Putting on my gloves, I gave the street one last glance and climbed in the front seat of Tony's car. I was glad to see that he'd already turned on the heater.
