The Switch

Omniscient

As Naomi was running after Alexis she tripped over a long piece of gold metal and roll a little down the hill

Alexis ran over to Naomi "oh my God are you alright" she said loudly trying to speak over the thunder and lightning

"Yeah, my knee got skeent up but I'll be fine; what did I trip over" Naomi said while getting up

Alexis walked back up the hill and grabbed the long metal that had started to glow yellow "woah what the fuck" she said intrigued at the beautiful piece

"What is it" Naomi said looking at it curiously "is it heavy" she asked grabbing one end of it while Alexis still had the other end

"Get your hands off" Alexis yelled "I found it first" she yelled pulling it towards herself but Naomi pulled it back

"First off I'm the one who tripped over it and plus I don't want the damn thing I just want to look at it" Naomi said keeping her grip on the metal

"You've taken everything from me you're not taking this" Alexis said angrily pulling the metal

"I didn't take anything from you, you don't have anything I want trust me" Naomi said yanking the metal her way

"Whatever, you want everything I've worked hard for"

"You haven't worked hard for anything you have, everything has been handed to you; you came out of your moms vagina with a silver spoon in your mouth" Naomi yelled angrily

Pulling the metal back and forth caused the girls to fall to the wet ground, but both of their hands were still on the metal with rain pouring down on them intensely.

The lighting struck a tree not to far from where the girls were but they were too busy arguing to notice the danger they were in

"You're just jealous of my life" Alexis said with two hands on the metal now

"Trust me I don't want your lousy life, or your fake friends; I like my life just fine"

"I bet you do life is so much easier when you're a minority" Alexis said

"Whatever. I bet life is easier when you have white privilege"

"You couldn't last a day in my shoes" Alexis said

"And you couldn't last a second in mine" Naomi yelled back

As the girls pulled the metal they felt something prick their finger

"Ow" Alexis said looking at her thumb seeing a little bit of blood trickle out, but she kept her other hand on the metal not wanting to lose to Naomi who was also looking at her own thumb that was oozing blood

"What the fuck" she mumbled to herself wiping the little bit of blood on her shorts

The metal turned a bright yellow then lighting struck and hit the metal that the two girls were still holding on to electrocuting them both causing them to pass out.
