Mr. Miranda,
Hi. It's Naomi again. I was wondering, do you think maybe, just maybe, you could visit the orphanage on 92nd. It's big, but there's only a few kids. Boys and girls both. I think all of us kids would enjoy meeting you. I have been a fan since you wrote and starred in your musical In The Heights.
Um, I don't really know what to say. I feel I've said it all. After all, I've written 17 other letters. I mean, I still haven't been adopted. Darla says I'll never be adopted. I wish I was. Maybe then I wouldn't be hurt anymore. Also, can you tell Vanessa that I didn't get beat up at school but by the person I'm always mentioning, Darla. I hope she remembers me telling her that.
Also, can you tell her that I say thank you for buying the food at the grocery store. I owe her big time.
Can you just, never mind. This letter is not me asking you favors. Not anymore that is. Anyway, congratulations on your kid. I bet he or she is really cute. Also, happy new year.
Lin, I just want to say thank you. You are the only reason I've kept my hopes up. Your music helps me think on the positive side. I just really want to have parents again. And you guys are who I hope will at least foster me. I'm a handful sometimes. But I'm really sweet.
Emma says I'm sweet and the nicest person in the world, but Darla says I'm a handful and a piece of crap. So I'll say I'm a handful and sweet.
Time for a real one act play starring Darla.
Darla: The hell is wrong with you Naomi?
Me: I don't think anything's wrong with me.
Darla: *hits me till I have a split lip* go to you room ungrateful hog.
Me: *goes to my room*
That just happened yesterday. I'm sorry if you think I'm lying. It does sound pretty dramatic but it's the truth.
I'm gonna go Mr. Miranda. Please reply.
From,
Naomi White
