I stand up high, the cool wind blowing freely through my hair.

My bracelets were off, I was wearing only a pair of jeans and a Nirvana vest, and I had never felt so exposed.

But it felt good.

I could hear the raging water below me thrashing at the rocks, desperate to eat me up in its stride if it got the chance. It throws it's self up, pushing higher and higher to reach its goal and claim it's reward - because nothing was restraining it.

My arm stang when the salty water sprayed over where the ugly scars were forming, but the pain didn't faze me. The overwhelming feeling of freedom caused me to not even wince.

I felt so calm just stood here. To think I could just throw myself off it and no one would even notice. Nobody would even care, would They?

The question played on repeat in my head, I was contemplating jumping when I heard people behind me.

I stumble back away from the edge, as to not arouse any suspicion to what i was doing out here. And then I realised that the people were not just talking amongst themselves, but also calling my name. They were talking to me.

You may be wandering how I got to this situation. I mean, for all you know I could have magically appeared from the PE corridor to the beautiful cliffs above the beach. Well no, of course I didn't, but you don't know that.

However, what you do know is that i was extremely negative about the thought of swimming due to my self inflicted injuries and the fact that i thought of myself very lowly. I have extreme self hatred issue things, I don't know how to word it.

It was when I saw the people lined up outside of the changing rooms that I realised I didn't need to do this. I couldn't be forced into something that I didn't want to do, right?

So I just left.

I simply turned round, face to face with all of the curious teenagers staring at me in disbelief, and just walked past them.

My heart quickened as I realised what I was doing, however. I was leaving this school without permission. I was mitching, Bunking off - whatever you want to call It. And I was terrified.

I walked as far as my legs could take me, that's how I got into this situation.

I gulp before turning round to face the people calling my name. A girl with bright orange (obviously dyed) hair puts her hand on my shoulder, and looks me in the eye. She just stared into my eyes as if she could see right through me, it was.. creepy.

After a few seconds she looks away, and steps backwards a few paces to reveal two other teenagers, both boys.

"Hey.." one says awkwardly, reaching out a boney hand "I'm Cain.."

I couldn't help but smile at how adorable he was.

"Alex." I reply, taking his hand and shaking it weakly.
