Ten.
I have been in the cave for a while now. Father hasn't let me go anywhere since I returned. But to be honest, I had no where to go, let alone, I couldn't even move anywhere. I was toutured for my betrayal. Electricity, Fire, Ice. All of them played a part in breaking me down. It started off bad, but only got worse.
Have you ever been in a fire? Well, needless to say, its unpleasant. Especially when you get out, expecting comfort and safety, only to find it is below 0 outside and you have only a shirt and shorts on. Then, its like a lightening bolt decides, 'Oh, your life isn't crappy enough? Let me help.' Then is shocks you. Over and over and over until you feel it. Pain, seering, burning pain. Your heart, or lack there of, begins to convulse. Collapsing in on itself and stopping from time to time. Nothing else I can think of can describe the feeling I felt- still feel.
Nine.
"Cosima. You need to protect this heart." Twin Masters showed an image of a heart that was beating. It was blue and red, having a skull somewhat inside it.
"Yes, Father. I'll go there now." I sighed and grabbed my small bag containing food.
The heart was on a distant island I was able to visit once or twice since being back. Twin Master's heart resided there, but due to a spy, he quickly got it out and replaced it with a bomb, chaos forged to look like the heart. This was a suicide mission, I knew that much, but being made of whims and morals, would it effect me that much?
Eight.
"Greetings, Sea Lion King. I am here on orders. Please stay on the beach for when attackers come. Don't let them find the secret entrance." I waved to the giant beast before entering through a side cavern hidden at the top of the hill.
I wanted all creatures to stay off the island for the attack because I know father won't bother to save them. Hopefully Big Green sends a less experienced squad and will retreat upon facing our first line of defence.
Shouts and explosions came from outside as I situated myself in a cavern above the fake heart. I'd see who would enter and have a perfect shot at them before I was even spotted.
I heard clicks from the Hermit Crab King and figured a small person had entered. Father had seen one when he first talked to High Roller about the heart. Thats what convinced him to come up with this crazy mission.
The opening of the door pulled me from my thoughts and I lit my hand dully so if it was a threat I could hit them, but if it was a friend I could rehide.
Seven.
My hand went out as soon as I saw the hat. Grey hair as long as ever and his attire had barely changed. He was focused on the heart and trying to find a way to demolish it. I could kill him now...
"Look out!" I heard a voice behind me before a shove sent me tumbling out of my hiding spot. I crashed in front of First Squad and groaned in protest.
Did I forget to mention that my appearance has changed quite a bit? Well, obviously it was enough to hide my identity. My hair had been burned short and was brighter than ever. My skin had hues of blue and red intertwined, making small patterns here and there. My eyes were the only thing the same about me, now that I think about it. Those and my voice.
Six.
"A tiny twin masters?" Mighty Ray questioned.
"No banana head, its the boogie man." I snapped, lighting my hand in hopes of one of them recognising me.
Purple enveloped my body and everything stopped. My hair calmed to black, a new color, my hand flames went out, and the hues on my body faded. I looked to see Lin Chung with his hand out to me, struggling to keep me contained.
Five.
"Guys, its Cosima." Lin huffed, a line of sweat forming on his brow.
"Yes its me. Let me... I need out...." My breath faded quickly, the harmony canceling out the chaos I was made of.
The purple disappeared and I collapsed on the ground. My hair quickly relighting and my breath returning to me.
"Are you okay?" Lin questioned, leaning down to help pick me up.
"You tell... You tell me, harmo-boy." I panted, rolling over to lay on my back and try to get more breath in.
"She's fine." Lin stood and turned back to the heart. "Are you going to prevent us from blowing it up?"
"Yes. Its a bomb. Touch it and it activates." I stood shakily.
Four.
"Oh so unwise." A eerie voice came from the top of the mountain where an opening resided. "I was going to get you out before activating the bomb, but I see you still have loyalty to Big Green."
"I do. And you know what, with them behind me, I'm not afraid of you anymore." I regretted every word I just said.
Pain coursed through me and I screamed. I saw light, beautiful, white light, then a faint hue of purple and black. It felt like I was floating and for once in the past few years, I felt at peace. Like everything was how it was supposed to be. Like there was order and harmony restored in the world.
Three.
"Cosima!" A voice rang and I winced.
It was a loud unpleasant noise that kept repeating over and over again. I finally opened my eyes to find myself back in my room in Big Green. Lin was on my bedside, shaking my arm.
"Ow..." I groaned.
"What is wrong with you?!" He proclaimed, his hands cupping my face in worry and concern.
Two.
"Ummm my father is a phsycotic chaos bringer and my boyfriend is a harmonial manic? Talk about the wedding. Phew. That'll be fun."
"Not that. You never talked to us again! I thought you were dead." Lin had me in a bone crushing hug.
"Hey guys, is she awake?" The assassin, Kitty appeared in the doorway.
"Yes. Thank you, Kitty." Lin dismissed his sister and sighed, taking off his hat.
"I'm sorry. Had horrible reception." I smiled and hugged him. I was finally home.
'O n e.'
