Gabriel's pov
I plop my self back on the bed and slap my hand against my face. Why the fuck would I do that. Why? Is that how dumb I can be sometimes? Trying to kiss her...really Gabriel? That was the worst decision I've ever made. She pulled away so quick and made up a shitty excuse just to get away from me.

The worst feeling is when your so-called "crush" doesn't feel the same way about you. I've never really experienced this type of feeling for someone, which is why the feeling is so strong. The feeling of passionate affection for this person. But all of it gets crushed once you realize...they don't feel that way. But the same feeling sticks to you and it doesn't go away. Will I ever be with her is the real question.

I like clementine. A lot. Surprisingly. She was so stubborn and quiet when we met, still is, but I actually got to know a little about her...maybe not her whole back round but simple things.  Like when she giggles, a small snort comes out. And when she eats, she wipes off the spoon with a napkin to make sure it's clean. Sounds like I'm a little bit of a stalker, but i just love to observe.

"Gabe! Dinners ready!" Kate called and I stood up from my bed and put my beanie on and re ordered my hair a bit, making it a little less messy. I made my way downstairs and was greeted with a bowl of ramen noodles with a side of crackers
'It shall be a feast' they say. Well I guess it's an a apocalyptic way of a feast

"So clementine, what time you plan on going?" Javier asked

"After dinner. It's already dark. And I'm all packed up". She says sitting down across from me
My heart starts thumping. The awkwardness begins to thicken as I look up at he and make eye contact. She gives me the smallest smile full of pity. I sigh slightly, looking down at my food.

I say a prayer in my head and begin to eat. It was silent besides the slurping of the noodles and crunching of the crackers. I look of again and see Clem in a hurry to get her food eaten. Which bad because I want her to stay a little bit  longer

"Do you know any exits besides the front? There are guards. They'll be quick to suspect" Kate said breaking the silence

"Raymond is usually one of the guards. He'll let me pass for sure. I can definitely rely on him" clementine replied.

A bit of jealousy came across my blood as she mentioned Raymond. They've known each other for a while, and who knows...he could have feelings for her and she can have feelings for him

"Well that's good. Let's hope for the best, but I feel like someone should walk down there with you to make it seem less suspicious." Javier suggested.

"Gabe will come with me. He'll come back safe" clementine said, very quick to answer.
A slight smile grew on my face. She wanted me to come with her. What and honor honestly.

"Uh... y-yeah I'll go" I stuttered as she smirked a bit

"Alright. It's settled. It was really nice knowing you Clementine. Although it was a short knowing, I will remember you"Javier smiled and Clem gave him a fist pump.

"Same here. Ok definitely miss you Clem. Be safe out there" Kate said

With that said clementine finished up eating, i did the same and we were already heading out the door. She grabbed her bag and opened the door. She said her final goodbyes to Kate and Javier. They both smiled and waved as if they were sending her off to collage . I walked out the door step with her and we begin to walk down the street
