Reader's pov

You saw something that you could never forget.

You saw this thing you didn't know what it was, it was attacking your parents you stood there shocked, about what was happening in front of you. You couldn't move or talk you wanted to scream but you couldn't when you tried nothing came out of your mouth. One of those things bit your parents you were terrified. Something snapped in you and realized what was going on in front of you, so you ran to the kitchen and grabbed a knife. You ran back to the living room and started to stab it everywhere but it wouldn't die until you heard your mom say

"Stab it in the head"

You listened and it finally died, you did the same the same thing to the other one and they died. You ran to your parents and they were getting a high fever so you tried to help them up but then your mom said

"It's hopeless, we are going to turn to one of those things, you have to kill us."

"How do you know that?" You asked

"The news, they were explaining that if you get bit by one of those things you're going to turn, so you have to kill us before we turn," your mom said

"No! I'm not going to kill you guys!" You exclaimed

You didn't even notice that your mom grabbed the knife and stabbed your dad in the head killing him.

"Take care of yourself find someone who can help you. Don't die and don't get bit, we love you" your mom said as she stabbed herself in the head.

You started crying hugging your parents. You were alone in this awful world that you didn't know if you were going to see tomorrow or not.

You ran upstairs and grabbed some clothes and then ran back downstairs to grab water and a bunch of food you knew didn't go bad because you didn't know when it would stop or even if it would.

You got to the living room again and hugged your parents one last time and then you got into your car and just drove, you didn't know where you were going just trying to get away from here as fast as you could.
